RESOLUTION N0. 62-43 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD RESCINDING RESOLUTION N0. 2035 AND RE-ESTABLISHING A TIME AND METHOD OF PAYING OFFICERS AND EMPLOYEES Ob' SAID CITY. The City Council cf' che City of Lynwood does hereb;� resolve as follows: Section 1. Resolution No. 2035 is deemed to be obsolete, is no longer appropriate as a policy for fixing the time and method of�pa.ying of'ficers and employees,of th�e City of Lynwood, and is, therefore, rescinded. . Section 2. A11 officers and employees of the City of Lynwood shall hencefoi�th be paid on a bi-weeklJ basis with paf- ments delivered on alternate Thursdays, provided that when tr�e sa,id day fa11s on a lega.l holida.y the payment may be ma.de on the � preceding regula,r work da.y.• . , `Section 3. To facil'itat'e these pa.yments, L'here is iiereby------ - established a payroll £und and a retirement fund. These funds shall be used exclusively for the payment, of salaries or wages to of£icers and employees, Federal Withholding Ta.x, retirement contributions, and any other deduction or contribution authorized by law. Such payments shall be made by checks drawn on said Payroll or Retirement Funds, prepared in the�Treasurer's Office and signed bv the City Trea,surer or the DeputJ City Trea,surer. Section 4. Each Department Hea.d shall furnish the Treasurer with�•a. detaile'd Personnel Status Report based upon the terms of employment o£ the several officers and employees of the city, certified for pa.yment and approved for all employees in said department by the Department Head.and the Citf Manager, Sa,id payroll schedul'e shall Ue delivered to the City Treasurer on a.lternate Monda.ys following the close of the pay period. • o ` 0 +- � , ' � . , , `.. r . -. Section 5 . At any regular meeting o£ the City•Council succeeding the drawing or delivery of such pa�roll checks,'�the City Clerk sha,ll present to the CitJ Council the pa.yroll, duly certified and approved as aforesaid, a.nd demand covering a11 payments there- under, duly certified to by the City Clerk, as to its correctness and giving the tota.l of �the expenditures made from the Payroll Fund and the Retirement Fund for-the pa;nnent of sa,id officers and • employees. Employee's deduction for Federa.l Income Tax, retirement _ contributions, etc.; shall tie included in said payroll and shall be paid in- manner as sa.laries and wages are pa.id. ' .'Section 6. To provide for the immediate-pa,yment of 'sa,lary . or wa.ges due to employees who ma.y resign, retire or are dismissed between'regular payment dates, the City Treasurer is hereby authorized ' tor�ake such payment on certification by the�Department Head and , approva.l of the City Manager that said pa.yment of salary or wages is in accordance with the ,terms�of' employment of said . • � Also, to provide for the pa.;�ment of ea,rned sa.lasy or wa,ges in advance of the regular payment'dates�as set'forth in this resolution, when an employee is leaving on his or'her vacation.
