Santiago RESOLUTION NO. 16-9220 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF OPA-LOCKA, FLORIDA, REQUESTING MIAMI- DADE COUNTY TO LIFT THE SUSPENSION OF THE FUNDING AVAILABLE FROM THE PEOPLE'S TRANSPORTATION PROGRAM TO PROVIDE FUNDING FOR THE SOUTH ROUTE OF THE COMMUTER BUS SERVICE CIRCULAR; PROVIDING FOR INCORPORATION OF RECITALS; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the South Route of the Commuter Bus Service Circular has been discontinued due to an expiration of funding; and WHEREAS, there may be funding available from the County's People's Transportation Program (PTP) to fund the South Route of the Circular; and WHEREAS, Miami-Dade County indefinitely suspended funding from the PTP to the City of Opa-locka, FL; and WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of the City and its residents that the funding be restored and South route of the commuter bus service circular resume ; and NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF OPA-LOCKA, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals to the preamble herein are incorporated by reference; Section 2. The City respectfully requests that Miami-Dade County lift its suspension of the PTP funding available to the City, so that the South route of the commuter bus service circular can resume. Section 3. The City Clerk shall transmit this resolution to the Mayor of Miami-Dade County. Resolution No. 16-9220 Section 4. This Resolution shall take effect upon adoption by the City Commission, and subject to the final approval by the State of Florida Financial Oversight Board for the City of Opa-locka, FL.
