RE�LUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
LYNWOOD GIVING NOTICE OF PROPOSED ANNEXATION
OF THIAT CERTA�IN PROPERTY IN THE UNINCORPORd�TED
�`ERRITORY OF THE COUN�Y OF LOS ANGELES LYING
ON THE SOUTH SIDE OF LAVINIP� �VENUE BETWEEN
t1TLANTIC AVENUE �ND THORSON AVENUE (�TLd�NTIC
AVENUE ANNEXATION N0, �),
WHEREAS, pursuant to the "d9nnexation of Uninhabited Terri-
tory Act of 1g39 ,�� as amended., there has been presented to the City
Council of the City of Lynwood, California, a petition dated October 26,
1g62 executed by Robert B. Compton, et al, requesting the annexation
of certain propert� lying on the south side of Lavinia Avenue between
. Atlantic Avenue and Thorson Avenue, in the County of Los Angeles,
State of California, and 1Jing within the £ollowing described boundaries:
Beginnin��at a point in the nor.therly line of the Lfnwood
City boundary as said boundary existed September 20 Zg62
said point being distant North 71 West 'j72,06 feet and
South Ig l�jT West 464,50 feet from the northeast corner
' of Lot 2, J. J.. Bullis,Tract as shown on map recorded in
Book 3, pages 612 and 613 of Miscellaneous Records of Los
l�ngeles County, State of California; thence North 19
15? East 464,50 feet to the intersection•of the center
line of Lavinia Avenue, 60 feet wide, being the northerly
line of Lot 2 of said tract; thence North 71 West 376 .
feet along said center line of Lavinia Avenue; thence
South 19 15� West 306 ,67 feet to the intersection of
said Lynwood city boundary; thence South 71 East 87 feet
� along said City of Lynwood boundary; thence South 19
15;_t West 15'7.83 feet along said City of Lynwood boundary;
thence South 71 East 289 feet alon� said City of
Lynwood boundary to the point of beginning,

WHEREAS, said territory is uninhabited, unincorporated'
territory contiguous to the City of Lynwood, and
WHEREAS, said petition is signed by the owners of not lees
than one-fourth of th�� area of land. in such territory and representing
not_less than one-four.th of the assessed' value of such•territory
according to the last prece�ing equali�ed assessment roll of the
County of Los Angeles, State of California, in which territory is
situated, .
NO�r7, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED:
Section l . That pursuant to tHe "Annexation of Uninhabited
Territory Act of 1939," as amended, the City Council of the City of
Lynwood hereby gives notice of �aid proposed anner>ation.
Section 2, Said territory is hereby designated for identi-
� fication as "Atlantic Avenue Annexation No. 2."
Se'ction j. Said City Council herehy gives notice of and
fixes the 18th c�ay of December, 1962, at the hour of �7t:3� p.m, in the
� �Council Chambers in the City Hall, 113�0 Bullis Road, Lynwood,
California, as the day, hour, and place when and where any person
owning real property within such territory so proposed to be annexed �
and having ar�y objections to the proposed annexation may appear before
the City Council of said City of Lynwood and show cause why such
territory should not be so annexed. �
,' Section 4. The City .Clerk is hereby directed to cause a
� copy of this resolution to be published once a week two (2)
successive weeks prior to said hear7ng, in the Lynwood Press, a news-
paper of general circulation, printed and published in said City of
Lynwood, and also in the Herald American, a newspaper of general cir-
culation published outside of the City of Lynwood but in the County
in which is located the territory proposed to be annexed.
Section 5. The City Clerk is hereby directed to cause I
written notice of such proposed annexation to be mailec3 to each person ''
�to whom land within the territory proposed to be annexed is assessed
in the last equalized county assessment roll at the address shown on I �

said assessment roll, or as known to said Clerk, and to any person
who has filed his name and address and the designation of the lands
in which he has any interest with said Clerk.
Section 6, The City Clerk shall certify to the ac7option
of this resolution.
