SUBJECT: PARKS AND RECREATION COMMISSION ACTIONS -MEETING OF
JUNE 15, 2016
RECOMMENDATION:
The City Council is requested to receive and file the Parks and Recreation Commission
actions from their meeting of June 15, 2016.
BACKGROUND:
On June 15, 2016, the Parks and Recreation Commission held their regularly
scheduled meeting.
ANALYSIS:
Following is a summary of actions taken at the June 15, 2016 Parks and Recreation
Commission meeting:
1. ROLL CALL:
Present: Commissioner-Baroldi, Haddad, Vice-Chairman Georgina,
Chairman Rosso
Absent: Commissioner-None
Excused: Commissioner-None
2. CONSENT CALENDAR
The Parks and Recreation Commission approved the minutes of the May 18, 2016
meeting and received and filed the monthly report for May 2016.
3. UNFINISHED BUSINESS-None

4. NEW BUSINESS
A. REQUEST FROM TEMPLE CITY AMERICAN YOUTH SOCCER
ORGANIZATION (AYSO) FOR RESERVED USE OF THE ATHLETIC
FIELDS AT LIVE OAK PARK FOR YOUTH SOCCER CAMPS JULY 11-15
AND AUGUST 8-12, 2016
The Commission approved the request with the following conditions:
1) July 11-15,2016 approved until1 p.m. on Friday July 15,2016 to allow for
Camp-A-Palooza set up. Location of camp to be determined by staff to
avoid conflicts with the Live Oak Park Walking Path construction; and
2) August 8-12, 2016 approved only if the construction schedule for the
Walking Path project allows (i.e. rubber surfacing not yet installed).
B. REVIEW OF PLANS FOR THE TEMPLE CITY PARK VETERAN'S
MEMORIAL
The Commission reviewed the plans for the Temple City Park Veteran's
Memorial submitted by RHA Landscape Architects-Planners, Inc. and
recommended approval to the City Council.
5. MATTERS FROM CITY OFFICIALS
A. The Commission received the Parks and Recreation Director's Report for
June 2016.
CITY STRATEGIC GOALS:
Approval of the Commission actions of June 15, 2016 furthers the City's Strategic Goal
of Citizen Education and Communication.
FISCAL IMPACT:
This item does not have an impact on the Fiscal Year (FY) 2016-17 City Budget.
