ORDINANCE NO.28-2015
AN APPROPRIATION ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE
SUBMITTAL, ACCEPTANCE, AND APPROPRIATION OF A GRANT
FROM THE AETNA FOUNDATION
WHEREAS, In accordance with Indiana Code (IC) 36-1-4-10, a municipality may execute any
documents necessary to receive money from the state or federal government or any
other source, and said documents are prepared and executed by the City executive
administration, provided that the Common Council of the City of Richmond as the
legislative body of the City approves an ordinance for the appropriation of any
monies received in accordance with IC 36-4-6-18; and
WHEREAS, The Aetna Foundation has grant funding available through its "Go Local: Cultivating
Healthy Communities" grant program; and
WHEREAS, The City of Richmond Department of Parks and Recreation has submitted or will
submit a grant application to obtain funds for programming at the Farmers Market
over a two (2) year period; and
WHEREAS, No local match is required.
NOW, THEREFORE, be it ordained by the Common Council of the City of Richmond,
Indiana, as follows:
The City of Richmond Department of Parks and Recreation has submitted or will
submit, as authorized by IC 36-1-4-10, a grant application to the Aetna Foundation.
2. The City of Richmond Department of Parks and Recreation is authorized to accept said
grant funding in an amount up to Thirty Thousand Dollars and Zero Cents ($30,000.00)
over a two (2) year period.
3. Said funds, if awarded, shall be appropriated to fund the programming at the Farmers
Market.
Passed and adopted this day 015, by the Common Council of the City of
Richmond, Indiana.
