Forbes , AICP , Community Development Director ~ By: Jennifer Venters , Planning Secretary SUBJECT : PLANNING COMMISSION ACTIONS-MEETING OF JULY 12,2016 RECOMMENDATION: The City Cou ncil is requested to receive and file the Planning Commission (Commissio n) actions from thei r meeting of July 12 , 2 01 6 . BACKGROUND: On July 12 , 2016 , the Commi ssion held their regularly scheduled meeting . ANALYSIS: The following is a s um mary of actions taken at the July 12 , 2016 meeting : 1. ROLL CALL: Present: Commissioner-Cordes , Leung , Marston , Vice-Chair Haddad , Cha i r O 'Leary Absent: Commissioner-None Excused: Commissioner-Non e 2 . REORGAN IZATION OF PLAN NING COMM IS SION A. The Commission took the following actions: Vice-Chairman Haddad was elected as Chairman . Commissioner Marston was e lected as V ice-Cha irwoman . City Council August 2, 2016 Page 2 of 3 3 . CONSENT CALENDAR The Commission approved the minutes from their regular meeting of June 14 , 2016 . 4 . PUBLIC HEARING A. A SECOND TIME EXTENSION REQUEST FOR A TENTATIVE PARCEL MAP FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF THREE CONDOMINIUM DWELLINGS LOCATED AT 9619 BROADWAY AVENUE The Commission approved a second time extension request for a Tentative Parcel Map for the construction of three condominium dwell ings located at 9619 Broadway Avenue . The subject site is located on the north side of Broadway Avenue between Temple City Boulevard and Golden West Avenue . The site has a land area of approximately 11,470 square feet and is currently improved with two residences with a total floor area of 1,950 square feet. Each dwelling will conta i n four bedrooms and three bathrooms . The site is zoned R-2 and is designated Medium Density Residential by the General Plan . B . A TENTATIVE PARCEL MAP , AND A MAJOR SITE PLAN REVIEW TO ALLOW THE CONSTRUCTION OF FOUR CONDOMINIUM UNITS LOCATED AT 6243 ROSEMEAD BOULEVARD The Commission approved a request for a tentative parcel map and major site plan review to develop four detached two -story condominium units with attached garages. The project consists of two floor plans , containing 1,860 and 1,865 square feet of l iving area . Both floorplans consist of four bedrooms and three -and -a-half bathrooms . The proposed parcel map results in a dens ity of 12 .6 dwelling un its per acre therefore complying with the City's land use designation . The site is zoned R-3 and is designated High Density Residential by the General Plan . 5 . UNFINISHED BUSINESS-None 6. NEW BUSINESS -None 7 . COMMUNICATIONS-None 8 . UPDATE FROM THE PLANNING MANAGER Planning Manager Re imers announced the following updates regard ing the Camellia Square : Pokelicious is now open for business , Tea Station Express and Summer Rolls are targeted to open in August, and buildings one through four should be City Council August 2 , 2016 Page 3 of 3 finaled in September. Se condly, he announced that the proposed mixed-use project located at 5935 Temple City Boulevard should be brought to the Commission in September. Lastly , he provided an update re garding the General Plan and meetings to be held (date to be determined) to converse with various stakeholders and the General Plan Advisory Committee regarding the General Plan Update . 9 . ADJOURNMENT The Commission meeting was adjourned at 8:13 p .m . CITY STRATEGIC GOALS: Approval of the Commission actions of July 12 , 2016 furthers the City's Strateg ic Goals of Citizen Education and Communication .
