RESOLUTION NO. 16-9229
A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF OPA LOCKA, FLORIDA, DIRECTING THE
CITY MANAGER TO PURSUE AN INTERLOCAL
AGREEMENT WITH MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, FLORIDA, TO
PROVIDE WATER AND SEWER COLLECTION AND BILLING
SERVICES; PROVIDING FOR INCORPORATION OF
RECITALS; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, The City of Opa-locka, Florida, water and sewer billing and
collection system are not operated at an optimal level; and
WHEREAS, The City Commission seeks to find a more efficient and cost
effective system for the collection and billing for its water and sewer services; and
WHEREAS, The City Commission believes that it is in the best interest of the
City to pursue an interlocal agreement between Miami-Dade County, Florida, and the
City of Opa-locka, Florida, to provide water and sewer billing and collection services.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE CITY COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF OPA LOCKA, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals to the preamble herein are incorporated by reference;
Section 2. The City Manager is hereby directed to pursue an interlocal
agreement with Miami-Dade County, Florida, to provide water and sewer
billing and collection services.
Section 3. This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon adoption.
