RESOLUTION NO. 16-9235
A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF OPA-LOCKA, FLORIDA,
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO SPEND UP TO
$20,000.00 FOR APPRAISALS AND UP TO $5,000.00 FOR
TITLE SEARCHES ON CERTAIN PARCELS OF CITY-
OWNED REAL ESTATE (EXHIBIT "A"); PROVIDING FOR
INCORPORATION OF RECITALS; PROVIDING FOR AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS,The City is in a state of Financial Emergency; and
WHEREAS, The City needs to know and understand the true value of certain
parcels of city-owned real estate in order to develop its financial recovery plan; and
WHEREAS, The estimated cost of the appraisal is $20,000.00 and the
estimated cost of the title searches is $5,000.00; and
WHEREAS, It is in the best interest of the City to obtained the appraisals and
title searches.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE CITY COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF OPA-LOCKA, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals to the preamble herein are incorporated by reference;
Section 2. The City Manager is hereby authorized to spend up to $20,000.00
for appraisals and up to $5,000.00 for title searches on certain parcels of city-
owned real estate (Exhibit "A").
Section 3. This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon adoption, and
is subject to the approval of the State of Florida Financial Oversight Board.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 14th day of September, 2016.
