AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, VACATING AND
DISCONTINUING THE RIGHT-OF-WAY NEAR THE JUNCTION OF SUNSET LAKE
ROAD AND BOSS TERRACE DRIVE.
WHEREAS, it has been shown to the Council of the City of Jefferson, Missouri, that the
owners of land adjacent to and abutting upon Sunset Lake Road near the
junction of Boss Terrace Drive in the City, have petitioned the City Council
to vacate a right-of-way; and
WHEREAS, it has further been shown that it would not inconvenience the public or the
citizens of the City to discontinue a portion of the right-of-way of Sunset Lake
Road near the junction of Boss Terrace Drive for public use as described in
Section 1 of this Ordinance; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The Council of the City of Jefferson, Missouri, hereby declares it
necessary, reasonable and proper to discontinue as a right-of-way a portion of Sunset
• Lake Road near the junction of Boss Terrace Drive and forever vacate the following
described right-of-way in said City:
Part of the northeast quarter of the southwest quarter of Section 13,
Township 44 North, Range 12 West, described more particularly as follows:
From the northwest corner of the northeast quarter of the southwest quarter
of Section 13, Township 44 North, Range 12 West, thence east along the
quarter section line 677.74 feet to the to the northwest corner of a tract of
land conveyed to Sandra Kay Forbis in Book 524, Page 621, Cole County
Recorders Office,and the POINT OF BEGINNING of this description;thence
southerly along the westerly line of said tract, 200 feet, to the southwest
corner thereof, said line bearing south 150 45' east; thence south 740 15'
west, 42.73 feet; thence north 19° 28' 35" west, 57.06 feet; thence on a
curve to the left having a radius of 510.00 feet and an arc length of 35.65
feet, (the cord of said curve bears north 210 28' 45" west, 35.65 feet) to the
westerly line of a 50 foot road right of way; thence north 150 45' west, along
said westerly line, 117.05 feet, to the aforementioned quarter section line;
thence north 840 57' 52" east, along said quarter section line, 50.89 feet, to
the point of beginning, having an area of 9858 square feet.
Section 2. The statutory right of reversion in the owners of the abutting property is
• hereby confirmed, as is provided by the laws of the State of Missouri, and the Mayor and
the Clerk of the City are hereby authorized to execute all necessary instruments required
to confirm the reversionary rights of the owners of property abutting on the area vacated,
as described in Section 1 of this ordinance, in the alley right-of-way vacated.
Section 3. This Ordinance shall take effect and be in full force from and after its
passage.
