RESOLUTION NO. 16-9245
A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF OPA-LOCKA, FLORIDA,
CONVENING ITSELF INTO A BOARD OF INQUIRY IN
ACCORDANCE WITH ARITCLE II SECTION 2.5(5) OF THE
CITY OF OPA-LOCKA CHARTER; INQUIRING INTO THE
WASTE HAULERS IN AND FOR THE CITY OF OPA-
LOCKA, FLORIDA; PROVIDING FOR INCORPORATION
OF RECITALS; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, waste removal is an essential city service and it is the duty of the
City Commission to provide said service; and
WHEREAS, there has been accusations, rumors, and innuendos regarding the
present service provider; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Opa-locka as a political
subdivision of the State of Florida has a duty to be fair and to ensure due process in
all of its dealings.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE CITY COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF OPA-LOCKA, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals to the preamble herein are incorporated by reference.
Section 2. The City Commission of the City of Opa-locka, Florida convenes
itself as a Board of Inquiry forthwith naming a Chairman and reaching
findings on the above matter.
Section 3. This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon adoption.
