RESOLUTION NQ. 61-7
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
LYNWOOD FINDING THAT THE PUBLIC IN�EREST AND
CONVENIENCE REQUIRE THE S.�LE OF THE LIBRARY
BUILDING AND SIZ`E.
The City Counci°1 of the City of Lynwood does hereby
resolve as follows:
WHERE�S, on the 3rd da��of �pril z956 the City of��Lynwood
and the County of Los Angeles entered into a lease whereby the City
of Lynwood leaaed and let unto the County of Los Angeles a library
building consisting of 5,431 gross square feet, Iocated on Lot 128,
Tract No, 15209 as per map recorded in Book 319, Pages 11 to 13 of
Maps, Records of Los ;Angeles County, California, legally described as;
Beginning at a point in the westerly line of said
lot,distant northerly thereon 150 feet from the
southwesterly corner of said 1ot; thence easterly
parallel with the southerly line of said lot a
distance o£ 205 £eet; thence northerly parallel
with the westerly line of said lot a dis�ance of
135 feet; thence westerly parallel with said
southerly line 205 feet to said westerly line;
thence southerly'along said westerly line 135
Peet to tHe point of beginning
for a period of five years, commencing on March l, 1956 and ending
on February 28 1g61 at the monthly rental of One Hundred Eighty-one
Dollars and Three Cents ($181,03) payable monthly, in advance, and
WHERE.4�S, in accordance with Paragraph 18 of sub,ject lease,
it is mutually agreed that the County shall have the option to purchase
the property and improvements thereon upon thirty dayse notice prior
to the expiration of the said five-year term of this lease for the
sum of One Hundred Nine Thousand Two Hundred Three Dollars ($109,203.00),
and
WHERE,4�S, the City of Lynwood has received a letter from
Robert B. Heuer, Director of the Department of Real Estate Management
of the County o£ Los �aangeles, dated November 29 z96o, wherein he states
that the Department of Real Estate Management is desirous of purehasing
the property f'or the County of Los Angeles, and that upon consideration
and approval by the City Council of Lynwood, the Department of Real

Estate Management and the County of Los Angeles will recommend to the
Board of Supervisors that the County of Los Angeles purchase the City
of Lynwood library for One Hundred Nine Thousand Two Hundred Three
Dollars ($109,203.00), at the earliest date possible.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED as follows:
l. The City Council of the City of Lynwood finds the
public interest and convenience require the sale of the library
building, a public building in said City of Lynwood, and the site on
which said library building is located, said site being dedicated to
a public use.
2. That the City Council of the City of Lynwood intends to
sell the said library building and the site upon which said library
building is located.
3. That the City Council hereby fixes the 21st day of
February , i961 at the hour of 7:30 o�tclock p.m, as the day
and hour, and the Council Chamber of the City Hall of the City of
Lynwood, 11330 Bullis Road, in the City of Lynwood, as the place when
and where any and all persons interested may appear before said City
Council and be heard. on any protests they may have to the sale of the
said library building and the site upon which said library building is '
located. �
4. That the City Clerk is hereby ordered to give notice �

of the time for hearing protests to the sale of said library building I

and site by causing to be`published the date, time and place of the I
said hearing in the Lynwood Press, a newspaper of general circulation, �
published in the City of Lynwood, County of Los Angeles State of �
California.
5. That final action will be taken as to'whether or not the
sale of said library building and site shall be completed on said 21st
day of February , 1g61 at the said hearing of the protests to �
said sale. �

6. That an adcurate description of the property to be sold ,
is as follows: '

southwesterly corner of said lot; thence easterly
parallel with the southerly line of said lot a
distance of 205 feet; thence northerly parallel
with the westerly line of said lot a distanee of
135 feet; thence westerly parallel with said
southerly line 205 £eet to said westerly line;
thence southerly along said westerly line 135
feet to the point of beginning.
