HomeMy Public PortalAbout16-9259 Attorney to Acquire the Certain Parcels of Land on Cairo Lane Sponsored by: City Manager RESOLUTION NO. 16-9259 A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF OPA-LOCKA, FLORIDA, DIRECTING THE CITY MANAGER AND THE CITY ATTORNEY TO ACQUIRE THE CERTAIN PARCELS OF LAND ON CAIRO LANE (EXHIBIT "A") AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE THE AGREEMENTS (EXHIBIT "B") NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE THE PURCHASE OF THE SAID PARCELS OF LAND (EXHIBIT "C") FOR AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $45,000.00; PROVIDING FOR INCORPORATION OF RECITALS; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, The City is in the process of installing public utilities and resurfacing the road on Cairo Lane; and WHEREAS, The City needs to acquire 4 parcels of land (Exhibit "A") along Cairo Lane in order to complete the required public utilities installation and resurfacing; and WHEREAS, The appraised combined value of the 4 parcels of land is $45,000.00 (Exhibit "B"), and WHEREAS, It is in the best interest of the City to acquire the 4 parcels of land (Exhibit "A"). NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF OPA-LOCKA, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals to the preamble herein are incorporated by reference; Section 2. The City Manager and the City Attorney are hereby directed to acquire the 4 parcels of land along Cairo Lane (Exhibit "A") for the combined appraised value not to exceed $45,000.00 (Exhibit "B"), and the City Manager Resolution No. 16-9259 is further authorized to execute agreements in similar form (Exhibit "C") in order to effectuate the purchase of the 4 parcels of land (Exhibit "A"). Section 3. This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon adoption, and is subject to the approval of the State of Florida Financial Oversight Board.
