Call to Order
Chair Telman called the meeting to order at 6 : 00 p .m .

Administrators ' Reports
Principal ' s Report
Principals ' reports were included in the packet.
Assistant Superintendent' s Report
Keith Gauley' s report was included in the packet.
Superintendent's Report
Superintendent Conrad indicated he is working on the Administrators ' evaluations and employee contracts . He is very
involved in the High School Principal Search . They have three candidates and will be doing sites visits . He
distributed a draft letter to the committee for Brewster parents indicating the work that has been done thus far with
regard to security at both schools . The Chair asked him to post it to the website when it is finalized . Members
reviewed the letter and asked questions about site visits, hiring agencies completing background checks, teachers
visiting our district showcasing a model lesson, and forums for parents on the hiring process once it is finalized . He
indicated that this will entail conversations with the Union and attorneys, as the District does not want to infringe on a
person ' s rights .
FY18 Budget
Giovanna Venditti, Director of Finance and Operations was attending the MASBO conference and could not be
available for the meeting. The Superintendent distributed a spending plan for the committee to review. He will bring
this back to the June meeting for school committee consideration and vote.
Moving of the Stony Library, various leaks in Stony and Eddy roofs and the cafeteria deficit was mentioned . The
Chair would like the schools identified with the cafeteria deficit amount. Kindergarten registration is 65 students so
far.
Visioning Event
Chair Telman would like to keep this on the agenda. Jessica Larsen suggested once the committee reorganizes,
scheduling the subcommittee to meet in the summer. Marie Enochty asked if Dr. Caretti could report on Integrated
Preschool at the next meeting. Claire Gradone suggested putting off discussion of visioning until the fall .

Cape Cod Collaborative — Jessica Larsen reported the board is reorganizing.
School Councils — No report

PTO — Claire Gradone reported that the PTO is working on the major fundraiser which is the Flea Market at Drummer
Boy Park. Volunteers are needed . She also informed the committee that the PTO has a Facebook page . The flea
market runs from June 26t — August 28h .
Policy Subcommittee — David Telman indicated the committee will meet in June.
Transportation Subcommittee — No report
Substance Abuse Subcommittee — Jessica Larsen reported that the subcommittee began visioning and refocusing for
the next three years . They are incorporating mental health along with substance abuse .
Superintendent Conrad announced that Emily Degnan and Jane Palazzolo are the Elementary Teachers of the Year.
Approval of Minutes
On a motion by Jessica Larsen, seconded by Claire Gradone, it was voted unanimously to approve the minutes as
amended .
Adjournment
On a motion by Jessica Larsen, seconded by Claire Gradone, it was voted unanimously to adjourn the meeting at 6 : 29
