AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, AMENDING CHAPTER 7
(BOARDS AND COMMISSION),ARTICLE VI(POLICE PERSONNEL BOARD), SECTION
7-152, (MEMBERS) OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, AS
FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Section 7-152 of the Code of the City of Jefferson is hereby amended
as follows:
Sec.7-152.Members.
A. The police personnel board shall be composed of six(6)seven 7 members-,three
(3)frorn each of the two(2)iwgest political parties in the city not more than one-half of whom shall
be members of the same political Party. Members of the board shall be appointed by the mayor with
the consent of a majority of the elected members of the city council and shall serve for a term of
three(3)years. ,two

ors. The mayor,with the consent of a majority of the members of the city council,shall
fill vacancies for any unexpired term. A member of the board may be removed for cause in the same
manner as prescribed by this Code or other ordinances for the removal of other city appointive
officers. Members of the board shall serve until their successors shall have been appointed and
qualified.
B. Each member of the police personnel board shall be a resident of the city for at least
six (6) months immediately prior to his appointment. Members of any official political party
committee shall not be eligible for membership on the board. Members of the board shall be required
to take the oath of office prescribed by provisions of this Code or other ordinances for city officers,
including a statement that they are in sympathy with the merit principle as it relates to the city police
department.

C. Board members shall serve without compensation.
