HomeMy Public PortalAbout16-9267 Inquiring a Quarterly Report to the City Commission Sponsored by: Commissioner Kelley RESOLUTION NO. 16-9267 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF OPA-LOCKA, FLORIDA, REQUIRING THE CITY MANAGER TO ISSUE A QUARTERLY REPORT TO THE CITY COMMISSION ON MONIES RECEIVED FROM COLLECTION ACTIONS ON ACCOUNT RECEIVABLES AND MUNICIPAL LIENS; PROVIDING FOR INCORPORATION OF RECITALS; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, There are high rates of delinquencies on account receivables and municipal liens; and WHEREAS, The City Commission desires to be informed of the impact that the delinquent account receivables and municipal liens are having on the City's finances; and WHEREAS, It is in the best interest of the City to have the City Manager issue a quarterly report to the City Commission on monies received from collection actions on account receivables and municipal liens. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF OPA-LOCKA, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals to the preamble herein are incorporated by reference; Section 2. The City Manager is hereby required to issue a quarterly report to the City Commission on monies received from collection actions on account receivables and municipal liens. Section 3. This Resolution shall take effect upon adoption, and is subject to the approval of the State of Florida Financial Oversight Board for the City of Opa-locka.
