Work Session - Call to Order 6:30 PM
A. Roll Call
The City of Tiffin City Council held a work session Tuesday, August 18, 2020, at the City Hall Council
Chambers. Mayor Berner called the meeting to order at 6:32 PM. Upon roll being called the following
members were present: Jim Bartels present via phone, Al Havens, Eric Schnedler, Christine Olney. Others
present City Administrator Doug Boldt, City Clerk Abigail Hora and Building Official Brian Shay.
B. Agenda Additions/Agenda Approval
Motion to approve agenda by Schnedler.
Second by Havens.
All ayes, agenda approved.
C. Questions from Council Members regarding items on the Regular City Council Agenda
Discussion: Mike Charbon resident at 715 Blue Jay Ct discussed his idea about the no parking on Blue
Jay Ct.
D. Other Business

Motion to adjourn by Schnedler.

Chambers. Mayor Berner called the meeting to order at 7:00 PM. Upon roll being called the following
members were present: Jim Bartels present via phone, Al Havens, Eric Schnedler, Christine Olney. Others
present City Administrator Doug Boldt, City Clerk Abigail Hora, Building Official Brian Shay and others
present.

Motion to approve agenda by Olney.
Second by Bartels.
All ayes, agenda approved.

Discussion: Kirk Dale resident at 826 Jackson St and addresses his concern about his neighbor
with seven dogs. Genevieve Ellis resident at 822 Jackson St and agrees with the neighbor at 826
Jackson St about the nuisance in regard to the dogs at 824 Jackson St.

Note: These are routine items and will be enacted by one motion without separate discussion
unless a Council Member requests separate consideration.

Motion to approve Resolution 2020-066 A Resolution Approving Additional No Parking on
Blue Jay Court by Schnedler.
Second by Olney.
Roll Call: Olney, Bartels, Schnedler, Havens.
All ayes, motion carried.

Road and Council Action as Needed. Mayor Berner recused himself from discussion.

2. City Council Reports Discussion: Councilperson Havens commends Public Works on the clean
up work after last Mondays storm and wanted to mention the pond on Goldfinch looks great.

4. Building Official Report Discussion: Brian Shay presents municipal infractions for next spring
when residents are in accordance with our ordinances.
5. Recreation Directors Report Discussion: Numbers are strong for flag football, volleyball, and
adult softball. We also obtained a youth basketball league from a local resident.

8. City Administratoreport Discussion: The City will be submitting two claims from storm
damage to City owned property. We are working with the school on a 28-E for gym space.
