WHEREAS, pursuant to the "Annexation of Uninhabited Terri-
tory Act of 193g as amended, there has been presented to the City
Council of the City of_Lynwood, .California, a petition �ated'�prr1�26,

Beginning at the intersection of the westerly line of the
Los Angeles River as described in deecl to Los Angeles Coun�y Flood
Control District recorded in Book 11121, page 397 of Official Records,
Records of Los Angeles County, California, with the southerly bo'undarV

1961 thence southerly along said westerly line to the southeasterly

WfIGRE�S, said territory is uninhabited, unincorporated
territory contiguous to the City oF Lynwood, and
WHEREAS, said petition is signed by the ownera of not less
than one-fourth of the area of land in such territory and representing
not less than on�-fourth of the assessed value of such territory aecord-
ing to the last pr2ceading equalized assessment roll of .the County of
Los Angeles, State of California,,in which territory is situated,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT �ESOLVED:
Seetion l . That pursuant to the "Annexation of Uninhabited
Territory Act of 1939," as amended, the City Gouneil of the City of
Lyn.aood hereby gives notice of said p�oposed annexation.
Seetion 2. Said territory is hereby designated £or identi-

Section 3. Said City Council hereby gives notice of and

�, fixes the 5th day of July lg6i at the hour of 7:30 p.m. in the
� Council Chambers in the City Hall', 11330 Bullis Road, Lynwood,
California, as the day, hour, and place when and where any person
owning real property with3n such territory so proposed to ba annexec7
and having any objections to the proposed annexation may appear before
the City Council of said City of Lynwood ,and show cause why such terri-
tory should not b�a so annexed.
Section 4 . The City Clerk is hereby direct�d to cause a copy
of this resolution to be published once a week for two (2) successive
weeks prio� to said h�aring, in the Lynwood Press, a ne�spaper of
' general circulation, printed and published in said City pf Lynwood, and
' also in the Herald American, a newspaper of general circulation pub-
lished outside of the City of Lynwood but in the County in which is
located the territory proposed to be ann�xed.
Seetion'5 The City Clerk ie hereby direeted, to cause written
notice of, such proposed annexation to be mailed to each person to whom
land within the territory proposed to be annexed is aasessed in the
last equalized County assessmenL roll at the address shown on%said
assessment roll, or as lmown to said Clerk, and to any persori who has
filed his name and address and the designation of the lands in which

he has any interest with said Clerk.
Section 6 . TheCity Clerk shall certify to the adoption of
this resolution.
