HomeMy Public PortalAboutM 1985-04-11 - CC_spt a' . ~~ SPECIAL MEETING APRIL 11, 1985 A The City Council of the City of Lynwood met in a special meeting on above date at 5:00 p.m. Mayor Byork in the chair. Councilmen Henning, Morris, Rowe, Thompson and Byork answered the roll call. Also present were City Manager Gomez, Assistant City Attorney Huebsch and City Clerk Hooper. The City Manager stated Item No. 3, Council Salaries, Ordinance No. 1243 was adopted by Council on January 2, 1985 to increase the councilmens' salaries. In the meantime, a letter was received from the attorney's office stating that any changes in council salaries cannot take effect until the beginning of a new term pursuant to Government Code 36516.5. After discussion, it was moved by Councilman Rowe, seconded by Councilman Morris, to postpone salary increases until further notification from the City Attorney. City Manager stated that each year an in-kind service Steelworker's agreement with the Steelworker's Oldtimer Foundation needs Foundation to be reviewed so they can receive federal programs and comments grants. After discussion, it was moved by Councilman Morris, seconded by Councilman Thompson, to accept in-kind service agreement subject to preparation and execution of lease agreement acceptable to the City Manager and Attorney, in- cluding assignment, sub-leasing, use clauses, insurance and hold harmless cause. Information will be brought back to Council at the next meeting. The City Manager stated a letter had been received from Letter from Mr. Goldberg of Abco Hardware regarding the development ABCO at Atlantic and Imperial. They stated Huntley will buy Abco and they will be moving. Director of Community Development Importuna and the City Manager will meet with Abco and report back to Council. ~...., The City Manager stated Captain Popovich wants to make a Video tape promotional video tape for new trainees. This tape would by Capt. include the Council and Department Heads. The tape would Popovich familiarize recruits with City policies and personnel.
