Section l . That Resolution No. 2035 of the City of Lynwood
adopt.ed the 18th �ay o�° March, 1947� prescribes the time and method

Section 2 . That the monthly sala,ries and wages for
officers and emplo,yee� f°or the various cla,ssifications falling in

For those emploJees under the be.sic five-step salary plan,

for^ the position. However, where circumstances so warrant, appoint-

ment ma.y be made at other than the first steg, or after appointment,
a.n intermedia�e titep m�y be skipped when recommended by the City
Man�.g�r� I'ncre�,ses throughout the rem�.inder of the steps shall be
given upon recommendation of the department head a.nd approval of the
City Mana,ger until the highest or top step is reached. Step ra,ises

The City doe� not p�.y for overtime worit except for off-
µ duty court t,ime by police officers below the rank of° lieutenant.
Ho�aever, when overtime work is necessary, such overtime may be com-
�=n��ted �'or b,y time oPf �� the discretion of the department head,
Off-duty court time sha7.1 be compensate� for at the ra.te
of $3�00 per hour up to � maximzzm of 3C hours for each six-month
period. 'Pen ]�ours only in excess of 30 hours per period may be
, carried o�rer t;o +.he succee�ing �ix-month period. For pay purposes,
periods sh�.11 regularly commPnce on Jur� lst, and encl November 30th,
beginning ane�nr on December lst, and ending May 31st. The Police
Chief' shall furnish the City Manager monthly reports showing the
�'istribution of such overtime.
Section 3. That the monthly compensation for officers and
�"` employ�es in the various classifications�not included in the basic
five-step a�.lary schedule shall be as follows:

Section 5. Premium Fay. To encourage employees in under-

ta.king outsi�e study to the end that they may per£orm their duties
in a more eff°icient manner, a system of premium pay, over a.nd above
established. p�y scheraules, is hereby established.
Premium pc.y is allowable for completed courses of approved
subjects at e.ccredited schools and is fixed at $1.00 per month for
each semester hour of work satisfactorily completed by the employee.
1V[aximum premium pay is fixed at $20.00 per month,
A semester hour is defined as one hour of classroom work

All cou.rses o.f study must ha.ve p.rior approva.l by the department head
a.nd Ci*_•y N�:.nager in order Lo receive premium credit.

The Cit,y will contribute 50� o.f the cost of tuition where
the co�t of' such tuition exeeeds the sum of $lO.00 per semester.

Th� provisions of �;his section do not apply to hourly
emp:l,oyees or empl.o,yeea underta.kino a.n �.pproved course betw�en the

Section 6. Blue Cross Pa.yment. The City will contribute
the empleyee�s Blue Cross coverage in the following amounts:

Section 7. Car Allowance. Compensation for use of
employee owned automobile� for city business is esta.blished as
follows:

Recreation Direetor ---$ 40.00 per month.
SecT,ion 8 . Nothing herein contained shall be construed

L,ynwoo�, or �he rules and regulations adopted pursuant thereto.
