RESOLUTION OVERRULING PROTESTS AND DETERMINING
THAT THE CITY COUNCIL HAS �C�UIRED JURISDICTION
TO ORDER THE PROPOSED WORK OF IMPROVEMENT IN THE
Ma�TTER OF THE IMPROVEMENT OF PORTIONS OF UNN�MED
STREETS COMMONLY KNOWN AS CORTLAND �VENUE AND
LOUISE AVENUE, AND A PRIV�i'ITE STREET COMMONLY
KNOWN AS CHECK AVENUE, ALL E,R�STERLY OF WRIGHT
ROAD, BY THE CONSTRUCTION OF VITRIFIED CLI�Y PIPE
SANITARY SEWERS, TOGETHER WITH ALL INCIDENTAL AND
APPURTEN�NT WORK.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Lynwood did on
the 3rd day of October, 1g61 adopt its Resolution of Intention No.
61-62 ordering the improvement of portions of unnamed streets commonly
known as Cortland Avenue and Louise Avenue, and a private street
commonly known as Check Avenue, all easterly of Wright Road, by the
construction of vitrified clay pipe sanitary sewers, including manholes
and pump station, together with all incidental and appurtenant work,'
and
WHERE�4S, Tuesday, the 7th day of November, 1g61 at the hour
of 7:30 p.m. at the Council Chambers,in the City Hall in said City of
Lynwood was the time and place set in said Resolution of Intention
when and where any objections to the proposed work or improvement, or
to the extent of the district to be assessed, or to the grades to
which the work was proposed to be done would be heard by said City
Council, and
WHERE�S, the City Clerk of said city has heretofore presented
and filed an affidavit of publication of said Resolution of Intention, ,
showing that the same-was published according to law, and
WHEREAS, said City Clerk has also presented and filed his
affidavit of mailing notices of the adoption of said Resolution of
Intention in the time,.form, and. manner,; and to the persons, all.as
provided by an Act o£ the Legislature of the State of California,
designated as Division 7 of the Streets and Highways Code, and cited
as the "Improvement Act of 1911," and amendments thereto, and

WHERE�S, the City Engineer-Superintendent of Streets has
heretofore presented and filed an affidavit showing that notice of
the passage of said Resolution of Intention has been posted in the

manner provided by said Act, and
WHEREAS, at said hearing held on the 7th day of November,
1g61 one proteet was filed against any of the things proposed to
be done under said Resolution of Intention No. 61-62
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
City o£ Lynwood that said protest is hereby overruled and that the
said City Council.has acquired full jurisdiction to order the proposed
work or improvement.
