RESOLUTION NO. 16-9279
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF OPA-LOCKA, FLORIDA, DIRECTING THE CITY
CLERK, CITY MANAGER AND CITY ATTORNEY TO
DEVELOP AN ORIENTATION PROGRAM FOR ALL
NEWLY ELECTED COMMISSIONERS; PROVIDING FOR
INCORPORATION OF RECITALS; PROVIDING FOR AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, The City does not currently have an established orientation
program for newly elected commissioners; and
WHEREAS, There is a need to educate, inform and orient newly elected
commissioners of their roles, responsibilities and duties as commissioners; and
WHEREAS, The City Commission believes that it is in the best interest of the
City to have an established orientation program for newly elected commissioners.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE CITY COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF OPA-LOCKA, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals to the preamble herein are incorporated by reference;
Section 2. The City Clerk, City Manager and City Attorney are hereby
directed to develop an orientation for newly elected commissioner and to
bring the same back to the City Commission within sixty (60) days of this
resolution.
Section 3. This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon adoption.
