THE CONTRACT FOR FURNISHING AND DELIVERING CERTAIN
MATERIALS AND SUPPLIES IN CONNECTION WITH THE HERE—
INAFTER MENTIONED IMPROVEMENT IN ACCORDANCE WITH
PLANS 1�ND SPECIFICATIONS N0. 1961—L-3 IN THE MP.TTER
OF THE IMPROVEMENT OF PORTIONS OF UNNAMED STREETS
COMMONLY KNOWN AS CORTLAND AVENUE ,�ND LOUISE'AVENUE,
AND A PRNATE STREET COMMONLY KNOWN AS CHECK AVENUE,
ALL EASTERLY OF WRIGHT ROAD, BY THE CONSTRUCTION OF
VITRIFIED CLAY PIPE SANITARY SEWERS, TOGETHER YdITH
ALL INCIDENTAL AND APPURTENANT WORK.
BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Lynwood,
California, as follows:
WHEREAS, pursuant, to an act of the Legislature of the State
of Calif'ornia known as the "Labor Code," the City Council of the City
of Lynwood is required to ascertain the general prevailing rate of
per diem wages and the general prevailing rate of per diem wages for
legal holidays and overtime work in this locality for each craft or
type of laborer, workman or mechanic needed to execute the proposed
contract for the construction of 8-inch vitrified clay pipe sanitary
sewers, 6-inch vitrified clay pipe sanitary sewer house laterals,
sanitary sewer pump station and manholes, including all incidental and
appurtenant work in portions of unnamed streets commonly known as
Cortland Avenue and Louise Avenue, and a private street commonly known
as Check Avenue, all easterly of �right Road, in accordance with plans
and specifications No. 1961-L-3 on file in the office of the City Clerk
of the said City of Lynwood.'
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council o£ the City of Lynwood does
hereby resolve as,follows: � _

Section 1. The City C,ouncil of the City of Lynwood does
hereby ascertain and determine that the general prevailing rate o£
hourly wages, in the locality in which said nvork or improvement is to
t be done, for each craft or type o£ laborer, workman, or mechanic needed
to execute the oontract for £urnishing and delivering certain materials
and supplies in connection with the improvement hereinabove described

and in accordance with Plans and Specifications No. 1g61-L-3 on file
in the office of the City Clerk of said city, is as follows:

Water Truck Driver - under 2500 gals. 3.635
Overtime Rates:' Overtime rates, rate of pay for Saturdays, Sundays
and holidays shall apply to those holidays as recognized in the
collective bargaining agreement applicable to the particular craft
classification or typ2 of workman employed on the pro�ect.
Any classi£ication omitted herein, not less than $2.50 per hour plus
emp�oyer payments set forth in the collective baroaining agreement
applicable to the class or classification of the worlrnian or mechanic
involved.
I Provided that notwithstanding the general provisions con-
tained herein, flagmen, guards, and watchmen shall be paid one and
one-half times the prevailing rate for overtime (overtime ehall be
time worked in excess of eight hours per day or forty hours per week),

and the straight prevailing rate for time worked on Saturd.ays, Sundays,
� and holidays where such time does not constitute overtime.
�� The foregoing prevailing wage schedule is based upon a
I working day of eight hours, and in the event that laborera, workmen
i
i or mechanics are employed less than eight hours per day, the rate of

per diem wages shall be deemed to be that fraction of the foregoing
rates that the number of hours of employment bears to eight.
Tne rate of compensation for any classification not listed
in the schedule, but which may be required to execute the proposed
work, shall be commensurate and in accord with the rates specified
for similar and comparable classifications or for those performing
similar or comparable duties.
