HomeMy Public PortalAbout61-068 (11-07-61) � �i-b8 RESOLUTION N0. 61-68 RESOLUTION ORDERING THE WORK AND DIRECTING THE CITY CLERK TO GIVE NOTICE INVITING BIDS IN THE MATTER OF THE IMPROVEMENT OF PORTIONS OF UNNAMED STREETS COMMONLY KNOWN AS CORTLAND AVENUE AND LOUISE AVENUE, AND A PRIVATE STREET COMMONLY KNOWN AS CHECK AVENUE, ALL E�STERLY OF WRIGHT RO�D, BY THE CONSTRUCTION OF VITRIFIED CLAY PIPE SANITARY 5EWERS, TOGETHER WITH AI.L INCIDENTAL AND APPURTEN&�NT WORK. BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Lynwood as follows: Section l. In the opinion of said City Council the public interest and convenience require, and said City Council having acquired jurisdiction so to do, the following work or improvement is hereby ordered to be done, to wit: Construction of 8-inch vitrified clay pipe sanitary sewers, 6-inch vitrified clay pipe sanitary sewer house laterals, sanitary setiver pump station and manholes, including all incidental and appur- tenant work in portions of unnamed streets commonly known as Cortland Avenue and Louise Avenue, and a private street commonly known as Check Avenue, all easterly of Wright Road, in accordance with plans and specifications No. 1961-L-3 on file in the office of the City Clerk of the said City of Lynwood. Section 2. All of the work or improvement aforesaid shall be done as contemplated in Resolution of Intention No. 61-62 of the City Council of said city, and to Plans and Specifications No. 1961-L-3, to which reference is hereby made for further particulars. Section 3. Said proposed work or improvement, in the opinion of said City Council, is of more than local or ordinary public benefit and said City Council hereby determines and declares that the district to be benefited by said work and improvement, and to be assessed to pay the costs and expenses thereof is particularly described in Resolution of Intention No. 61-62. Re£erence is hereby made to said Resolution of Intention and to Plan No. 1961-L-4 for further particulars as to the extent of the assessment district. -2- Section 4. The proceedings for the aforesaid work improvement shall be had and taken under an act of the Legislature of the State of California designated as the Streets and Highways Code, Division 7, and cited as the "Improvement Act of lgll," and amendments thereto. � Section 5. The City Council hereby determines and declares that serial bonds shall be issued in the form and manner provided in said aforementioned act, bearing interest at the rate of six (6) per centum per annum to represent each assessment of Fifty Dollars ($50.00) or over., remaining unpaid for thirty days after the date of warrant. Said serial bonds shall extend over a period ending nine years from the second day of January next succeedin� the next October 15th , following their date. Said bonds and interest thereon shall be paid at the office of the City Treasurer of said city and shall be disbursed by him, all as provided in said act. Section 6. The City Clerk shall cause to be published a notice inviting sealed proposals or bids for doing the above described work or improvement in the time, form, and manner required by law.
