WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Lynwood did, by Resolution No. 61-6g adopted on the 7th day of November, 1g61 declare its intention to call a special election giving at_least _ � fift four da st notice thereof for the � Y- y , purpose of submitting to the qualified electors residing in said certain inhabited territory con- � tiguous to said city the question of whether or not said territory shall be annexed to the City of Lynwood, and � WHEREAS, a copy of' said Resolution was published as required ! by law, and � i i WHEREAS, at a time not later than the hour set by said I resolution for hearing objections to the proposed election no written � i protests were made by the owners of one-half of the value of the ; territory proposed to be anne�ced as shown by the last equalized assess- I ment roll, and � WHEREAS, all proceed,ings have been had in accordance with ; said resolution and the "Annexation Act of':.1913,"' as amended, reference , i thereto hereby is made for further particulars, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the I City of Lynwood, as follows: � i Section l. A special election hereby is called to be held ; on Tuesday, the 13th day of February Zg6z in the territory herein- after described and proposed to be annexed to the City of Lynwood, for thel purpose of submitting to the qualified electors residing in said terri- � tory the question whether or not such territory shall be annexed to, I incorporated in, and made a part of the City of Lynwood. I Said territory is described as follows: i Beginning at the intersection of the center line of � Beechwood Avenue, 60 feet wide, with the easterly line . � of Wright Road, 50 feetrvride, as shown on map of Tract � No. 10634 recorded in Book 165, pages 40 to 43 inclusive, -1- � � - � � of Maps, in the office of the Recorder of the County of Los Angeles, said intersection being on the boundary line of the City of Lynwood as said boundary existed on June 23, 1961; thence westerly along said center line of Beechwood Avenue, westerly along the center line of Beechwood Avenue, 80 feet wide, as shown on map of Tract No. 10978 recorded in Book 191, page 6 of said Maps, and continuing westerly along the center ' line of Beechwood Avenue, 50 feet wide, as shown on map of Tract No. 7984 recorded in Book 90, pages 3�, . 35 and 36 of said Maps, to the intersection of the northerly prolongation of the westerly line of the first alley East of Virginia Avenue, as shown on said- map of Tract No. 7984; thence southerly along said - northerly prolongation and westerly line and its � southerly prolongation to the southerly line of/Century Boulevard, 100 feet wide, formerly Morton Road, as shown on map of Tract No. 6728 recorded in Book 125, pages 19 and 20 of said Maps; thence easterly along said southerly line to the intersection of the boundary of the City o£ Lynwood as said boundary existed on June 23 1g61 thence northerly and following its various courses to the point of beginning. Section 2. That the polls for said election shall be open at 7:00 oiclock a.m. of the day herein £ixed for the holding o£ said election, and shall be kept open until 7:00 oLClock p.m. of the same day, when the polls shall be closed. Section 3• Upon the ballots to be used at said, election there shall be printed the words; _ SI3ALL LUGO PARK ANNEXATION N0. 3 BE ANNEXED TO THE CITY OF LYNWOOD? Opposite these words there shall be printed the words "Yes" and "No" and to the right of each of these last two words there shall I be a voting square. If an elector shall stamp a cross (+) in the � voting square after the printed word "Yes" the vote of such elector I i shall be counted in favor of the annexation of said territory to the I 1 City of Lynwodd, and if an elector shall stamp a cross (+) in the ' I voting square after the printed word "No" the vote of such elector I shall be counted against such annexation. Except as otherwise provided, the ballots used, the opening and closing of the polls, and the conduct of the election in the � territory shall conform as nearly as possible with Election Code pro- i visions concerning General Elections and with said Annexation Act of 1913, as amended. I -2- Section 4. For the purpose of said election there hereby is establi�hed in the territory described herein one (1) voting pre- cinct, which shall include all of said territory so proposed to be annexed. The following is the polling place of said election precinct, and the £ollowing named persons hereby are named officera o£ said election and shall constitute the Board of Election for such election precinct: Polling Place: 11270 Pope Avenue, Los Angeles County, Cali£ornia. Inspector: Mrs. Louella Burk Judges: Mrs. Mabel A. Fox Mrs. Janice K. Perris ' For their services in connection with said election, the � � Inspector shall receive $12.00, and said Judges $12.00 each, and the � person in possession of the polling place named herein shall receive � for the use of such premises in connection with said election, the � sum of $10.00. Section 5. The City Clerk of.the City of Lynwood is author- ' i ized to conduct said election and perform the duties imposed upon him � in accordance with the provisions of the Elections Code of the State ! of California and the Annexation Act of 1913.
