A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD, ACCEPTING
A GRANT AWARD FROM THE SOUTH COAST AIR QUALITY MANAGEMENT
DISTRICT TREE PARTNERSHIP PROGRAM IN THE AMOUNT OF $59,740 AND
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER OR DESIGNEE TO APPROPRIATE AND
TRANSFER $25,000 FROM UNAPPROPRIATED PARK MAINTENANCE GRANT
FUND, NO. 3561 TO THE NEW CITY WIDE TREE PLANTING PROJECT
WHEREAS, last fiscal year the City removed over 200 diseased trees; and
WHEREAS, in an effort to keep and maintain a healthy urban forest, the City
applied and was award a tree planting grant from the South Coast Air Quality
Management District.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD DOES
HEREBY FIND, PROCLAIM, ORDER, AND RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. That the City Council of the City of Lynwood accepts the $59,740
Grant from the South Coast Air Quality Management District Tree Partnership Program.
Section 2. That the City Manager of designee is authorized to appropriate and
transfer $25,000 from the Park Maintenance Grant Fund No. 3561 to the new City Wide
Tree Planting Project, FY 2010-11.
Section 3. Staff is authorized to implement the Youth Hiring Program for this
project, as required by the grant.
Section 4. This Resolution shall go into effect immediately upon its adoption.
Section 5. The City Clerk shall certify as to the adoption of this Resolution.
PASSED, APPROVED and ADOPTED this 19 day of October, 2010.
