RESOLUTION N0. 60-51
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD ADOpTING
RECOMMENDATIONS FOR THE CONVEYANCE OF PORTIONS
OF THE ASSETS OF COUNTY WATERWORKS DISTRICT
N0. 5 UPON ITS DISSOLUTION TO THE CITIES OF
LYNWOOD AND COMpTON.
WHEREAS
l. Pursuant to an agreement dated January 29 1957
the Cities of Compton and Lynwood have been and now are
operating the water system of County Waterworks District No. 5,
and
2. It is contemplated that said County Waterworks
District No. 5 may be dissolved in the near future and that
the assets of said district shall be upon such dissolution
transferred to the Cities of Compton and Lynwood, pursuant to
Section 55 ,g16 of the Water Code of the State of California,
and
' 3. It is the purpose hereof to provide an understand-.
ing and agreement by and between said Cities of Lynwood and
Compton, that all assets'of said district be conveyed to the
said Cities, respectively as here provided, if and when said
district is dissolved, and that their respective resolutions
be forwarded to the Board of Supervisors of Los Angeles County
as recommendations for its consideration and approval..
NOW THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of
Lynwood does resolve as follows:
Section l : That this resolutiori shall become effective
upon the adoption of a similar resolution by the City Council
of the City of Compton; and that this resolution, together with
a similar resolution of the City of Compton, shall be forwarded
to the Board of Supervisors of the County of Los Angeles.
S ection 2 : .It ia hereby recommended to the Board o£
Supervisors of Los Angeles County and agreed to with the City
of Compton that upon the dissolution of County Waterworks �
District No. 5 that its assets be distributed to the Cities
of Lynwood and Compton as follows:
(a�: All wells, tanks, pumps, meters, well sites,
easements and all real 'and personal property,
or that part or portion thereo£ presently
situated within the corporate boundaries of
the City of Lynwood be conveyed to the City
of Lynwood, and that the entire balance thereof
be conveyed to the City of Compton.
(b� That the surplus of cash reserves and surplus
tax funds and all other cash assets of the District, "
if any, in excess of that necessary to pay and
discharge any remaining bonded indebtedness
against the District be disburaed to the Cities
as follows;
17.99� thereof to Lynwood
82.01� thereof to Comp,ton.
