RESOLUTION OF INTENTION IN THE MATTER OF THE
IMPROVEMENT OF THE FIRST ALLEY SOUTH OF WOODLAWN
AVENUE BETWEEN ERNESTINE AVENUE AND GERTRUDE
DRIVE SY THE CONSTRUCTION OF CEMENT CONCRETE
GUTTER AND ASPHALT PAVING, TOGETHER WITH ALL
INCIDENTAL AND APPURTENANT WORK.
WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of Division 4 of the
Streets and Aighways Code, cited as the "Special Assessment Investi-
gation Limitation and.Majority Protest Act of 1931," the City Council
of the of Lynwood has determined that the improvement of the
first alley south of Woodlawn Avenue between Ernestine Avenue and
Gertrude Drive as proposed in Resolution No. 2863 of said city is
feasible, and that the public interest, convenience, and necessity
require the improvement substantially as set forth in said report, and
WHEREAS, said City Council has found that the lands to be
assessed will be able to stand the burden of the proposed assessment,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
City of Lynwood, as follows:.__
Section l: That in the opinion of the City Council of the
City of Lynwood the public interest and convenience require and it is
the intention of said City Council to order the following work or
improvement to be done, to wit:
The necessary grading, and. the construction of cement con-
crete gutter and asphalt paving in the first alley south of Woodlawn
Avenue between the northerly prolongation of the westerly line of Lot
l, Tract 7816 as recorded in Book 91, pages 21 and 22 of Maps, Records
of Los Angeles County, and the northerly prolongation of the easterly
line of Lot 11 of said Tract.
All of said work or improvement shall be performed in the
public ways and between the limits hereinbefore designated except
where the plans indicate that said work shall be om3tted.
That all of the work or improvement a£oresaid shall be done
and per£ormed in accordance with and to the grades shown on Plans and
, Specifications,No..1958-R-3 on file in the office of the City Clerk of

said city. Said plans are hereby referred to for a full and c�omglete
deseription of said proposed work and for the grades to which the
work is to be done and said plans and specifications are by reference
made.a part hereof and shall govern.for all details of the proposed work.
That the.total estimated cost of said work or improvement is
the sum of Two Thousand Two Hundred and 13/100ths Dollars ($2,200.13)•
Section 2: That said contemplated work or improvement, in
the opinion of said City Council, is of more than local or ordinary
public benefit, and said City Council hereby�determines and. declares
that the district to be.benefited by said work or improvement, and to
be assessed to pay the costs and expenses of such work or improvement,
is shown on P1an.No. 1958-R-4 on file in the office of the City Clerk
of said city, to which reference is hereby made for a full and complete
description of the assessment district.
Section 3: The City Council hereby determines and declares I
that serial bonds shall be issued in the manner and form provided in
Division 7 of the Streets and Highways Code cited- as the "Improvement
Aet of lgll," as amended, bearing interest at the rate of six per cent
per annum to represent each assessment of Twenty-five Dollars ($25.00)
or-over remaining unpaid for thirty days after the date of recordation
of the warrant; said serial bonds shall extend over a period ending
nine years from the second day of January next succeeding the next
October fifteenth following their d.ate. Said bonds and interest
thereon shall be paid at the office of the City Treasurer and the same
shall be disbursed by him, all as provided in the said "Improvement
Act of 1911," as amended.
Section 4: Notice is hereby given that the provisions of
that certain act of the Legislature.of the State of California desig-
nated as the Streets and Highways Code, Division 4, cited as the
"Special Assessment Investigation Limitation and Majority Protest Act
of 1931," as amended, have heretofore been fully complied with and all
the reports required under the provisions of said Act are on file in
the office of the City Clerk of said city, open to public inspection

and` may there be examined by all interested persons. .
Section 5: The proceedings £or the aforesaid work or
improvement shall be taken under an.Act of the Legislature of the State ,
of California designated as the Streets and Highways Code, Division 7,
cited as the "Improvement Act of 1911," and amendments thereto.
Section 6: The City Engineer is hereby directed to make a
diagram of the property affected or benefited by said proposed work
or improvement as described herein and to be assessed to pay the costs �
and expenses of said work, showing such separate lot, piece, or parcel
of land and the dimensions of each such lot, piece, or parcel of land
and the relative location of the same to the work or improvement pro-
posed to be done, all within the limits of said assessment district.
Section 7: Notice is hereby given that on Tuesday, the 3d
day o£ February 195g at the hour of 7:30 p.m. at the Council Chambers
' in the City Hall, 11330 Bullis Road, in the City of Lynwood, any and
all persons having any objections or protests to said proposed work or
improvement, or to the extent of the district to be assessed, or to
the grades to which the work is proposed to be done, may appear before
said City Council and show cause why said proposed work or improvement
should not be carried out in accordance.with this resolution.
Section 8: The City �ngineer, who is the Superintendent
of Streets, is hereby directed to post notices of the passage of this
resolution in the time, form, and manner required by law.
Section g: The City Clerk shall certify to the passage,of
this resolution by the City Council of said City of 'Lynwood and cause
the same-to be published twice in the Lynwood Press, a newspaper pub-
lished and circulated weekly in said city and hereby designated by said
City Council for the purposes aforesaid. Said Clerk is also directed
to mail notices of the adoption of this resolution of intention in the

., "Improvement Act of 191�, as amended.
