RESOLUTION N0. 59-8
RESOLUTION ABANDONING THE PROPOSED IMPROVEMENT
OF THE FIRST ALLEY SOUTH OF WOODLAWN AVENUE
BETWEEN ERNESTINE AVENUE AND GERTRUDE DRIVE BY
THE CONSTRUCTION OF CEMENT CONCRETE GUTTER AND
ASPHALT PAVING, TOGETHER.WITH ALL INCIDENTAL
AND APPURTENANT WORK.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Lynwood did, on
the 6th day of January 1959 adopt its Resolution of Intention No.
59-3 ordering the improvement of the first alley south of Woodlawn
Avenue between Ernestine Avenue and Gertrude Drive by the construc-
tion of cement concrete gutter and asphalt paving, together with all
incidental and appurtenant work, and
WHEREAS, the City Clerk of said city has heretofore pre-
sented and filed an a£fidavit of publication of said Resolution of
Intention showing that the same was published according to law, and
WHEREAS, said City Clerk has also presented and filed his
affidavit of mailing notices of the adoption of said Resolution of
Intention in the time, form, and manner, and to the persons, all as
provided by an act of the Legislature of the State of California,
designated. as Division 7 of the Streets and H3ghways Code, and cited
as the "Improvement Act of 1911," and amendments thereto, and
WHEREAS, the City Engineer-Superintend.ent of Streets has
heretofore presented and filed an affidavit showing that notices of
the passage of said Resolution of Intention have been posted in the
manner provided by said, Act, and
WHEREAS, Tuesday, the 3rd day of February 1959 at the
hour of 7:30 p.m. at the Council Chambers in the.City Hall, in said
City of •Lynwood, was the time and place set in said Resolution of
Intention when and where any objections to the proposed work or
improvement, or to the extent of the district to be assessed, or to
the grades to which the work was proposed to be done, would be heard
by said City Council, and
WHEREAS, at said hearing held on the 3rd day of February,
1959,ma�jority protests were filed against all of the things proposed

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council o£ the
City of Lynwood that the.said City Council has considered all facts
and testimony and in the best intere�t of all parties concerned,
declares this improvement to be_abandoned and that no further pro-
ceedings as outlined in Resolution of Intention No. 59-3 shall be
taken for a period of one year from this date, all as provided in �
Chapter 8, Part 3, Division 7 of the Streets and Highways Code, cited
as the "Improvement Act of 1911."
APPROVED and ADOPTED this 3rd day of February 1959.
