' RESOLUTION NO 59_22
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
LYNWOOD, CALIFORNIA DECLARING THE RESULT OF THE
SPECIAL ELECTION PERTAINING TO THE ANNEXATION
OF "OZELL MANOR ANNEXATION N0. 9". TO THE CITY
OF LYNWOOD, HELD IN SAID TERRITORY ON APRIL 14,
1959•
WHEREAS, a special election was held and conducted on the
__.. - 14th day oP Apr.il Z959 in,the territory hereinafter described'for
the purpose of submitting to the qualified electors residing in said
territory the question whether or not such territory should be
� annexed to, incorporated in, and made a part of the City of Lynwood.
Said territory is described as follows: •
Beginning at the intersection of the boundary line of
the City of Lynwood, as said boundary line existed on
,September 4 Z958 along the southerly line of the
' Pacific Electric Railway CompanyIS right of way, with
the center line of Atlantic Avenue, as said center
' line is shown on map of Tract No. 8716, recorded in
� Book 145, pages 63 and 64 of Maps, records of Los
Angeles County, Cali£ornia; thence southerly along
said center line and continuing southerly along the �
center line of Atlantic'Avenue, as said center line
°� """ 'is shown on map of Tract'No. 8242, recorded in Book
115, pages 55 and 56 ;:of ,said Maps, to the southeasterly
corner of Lot 2, J. J. Bullis Tract, as shown on map
recorded in Book 3, pages 612 and 613 of Miscellaneous
Records of said Los Angeles County; thence westerly
along the southerly line of said Lot 2 to the easterly
boundary line of the City o£ Lynwood as such boundary
line existed. on September 4 1958 thence northerly `
along said boundary and following the same in all its
various courses to the_point of beginning.
WHEREAS, it appears that notice o£ said special election
was duly and legally given; that a voting precinet was properly
established;.that election officers were appointed and election
supplies furnished., and sample ballots and polling place cards were
_ mailed. to,all qualified registered voters residing in said territory,
and that in all respects said election was held and conducted and the
votes cast thereat received and canvassed and the returns thereof
made and declared in the time, form, and manner as required by the
laws of the.State of California'governing such elections, and all of
the laws pertaining thereto, and „

WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Lynwood met in
the Council Chambers of the City Hall on Tuesday, the 21st day �
of April 1959 to canvass the returns of said election and declare •
the resul'ts to be as hereinafter stated'. "
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
City o£ Lynwood, as follows:
_ That the proposition submitted, the number of votes cast
for and against said annexation, and the total number of votes cast
are as follows:
"Shall Ozell Manor Annexation No. 9 be annexed to,
, incorporated in, and made a part of the City of
Lynwood,?" .

• Therefore, it is hereby declared that a majority of the
votes at said special election was against the proposed annexation.
