CALL TO ORDER: Mayor Swain called the Adjourned Meeting of the City Council to order at 7:35 D.M. on Monday, November 12, 1984, in the North Meeting Room of City Hall. 2. ROLL CALL: Present: Councilmen - Gillanders, Tyrell, Swain Absent: Councilmen - Atkins, Dennis Also Present: City Manager Karl Koski; Dave Oakley, Architect; John Pinner, Contractor Councilman Tyrell moved to excuse Councilmen Atkins and Dennis for cause, seconded by Councilman Gillanders and unanimously carried. 3. UNFINISHED BUSINESS: A. CITY HALL ADDITION AND REMODEL - (continued from regular meeting held November 6, 1984). The City Council reviewed the bids received for the remodel of the former County Engineer's Building. Six bids were opened November 1, 1984, the low bid received from Pinner Construction Co., Inc. in the amount of $1.,016,100. The architects estimate was $999,287.00. The City is in receipt of the contractor's qualifications statement in support of his capability to undertake the work proposed. The City Council reviewed the basic bid and alternates and determined to undertake the complete package as bid. Councilmen Atkins and Dennis, although not in attendance at the meeting, had previously indicated their approval of awarding the bid to Pinner Construction. Councilman Tyrell moved to accept the low bid from Pinner Construction Co., Inc., in the amount of $1,016.100 for the remodel of the new City Hall and amended the adopted budget accordingly, seconded by Councilman Cillanders and carried. To accommodate the construction work, staff had requested that the Civic Center parking lot be restricted from overnight parking in order to alleviate congestion caused by extended period parking. Additionally, the staff had requested the temporary removal of the 2 -hour parking limit on the north side of Las Tunas Drive between Golden West and Kauffman Avenues to provide parking for construction workers. Councilman Gillanders moved to approve restriction of the Civic Center parking lot from overnight parking and, also, the temporary removal of the 2 -hour parking limit on the north side of Las Tunas Drive be- tween Golden West and Kauffman Avenues during remodel of City Hall construction, seconded by Councilman Tyrell and carried. Councilmen Atkins and Dennis are in agreement with the action taken. On motion by Councilman Tyrell, seconded by Councilman Gillanders, the meeting adjourned at 8:10 p.m. Next regular meeting of the City Council will be held Tuesday, November 20, 1984, 7:30 p.m. in the Council Chamber of the City Hall.
