BOARD OF HEALTH MEETING
WEDNESDAY MAY 165 2018 AT 7 : OOPM
TOWN HALL, ROOM B
Board members present : Carmen Scherzo, DVM, Chairman ; Joe Ford, Vice Chairman; Mary Chaffee, RN PhD, JD and Annette
Graczewski, MT (ASCP)
Board members absent : Anne Bittner, M. S . P . H
Others present : Nancy Ellis Ice, CHO, RS , MPH, Health Director and Tammi Mason, Senior Department Assistant
1 . Chairman ' s announcements
The Town Election is May 22nd .
Private well homeowners can have their well water tested for PFASs for free by the STEEP program . More information can be found
on the Town ' s website or at the STEEP website at www . uri . edu/steep
Brewster Coastal Committee will be holding a discussion on the beaches on May IV' .
Recycling center has adopted organic recycling. Items that will be accepted can be found on the Town ' s website .
2. Calces by Brenna — food establishment permit application
Brenna Van Tassle was present. She will be baking cakes at her home for retail sale .
Dr. Chaffee asked if she got a copy of the Assistant Health Directors recommendations . Mrs . Van Tassle stated that she had received
the memo .
Motion : Approve the food permit application pending the completion of the Assistant Health Directors recommendations .
Motion : Mary Chaffee Second : Joe Ford Vote : 4-0-0 Action : Motion carried
3. The Flats Restaurant — food establishment permit application
Restaurant owner did not show . Will reschedule for another meeting.
4. George Heufelder
This item was cancelled.
Dr. Scherzo spoke about his conversation with Jack Unitis in regards to the 319 Grant.
5. Discuss draft Marijuana regulations
There was discussion on all the different opinions for changes and corrections to the proposed regulation.
Mrs . Ice will try and put this all together and bring back to another meeting.

6. Review & approve minutes from 2/7/2018
There were a few minor corrections .
Motion : Approve minutes with corrections . Second : Mary Chaffee Vote : 4.0.0 Action : Motion carried
7. Discuss fee waivers
Mrs . Graczewski asked that this be discussed . She asked if the Board wanted to make it a practice of waiving fees more than once for
the same project.
Dr. Chaffee stated that there are not a lot of these and thinks its ok to keep doing this .
8. Discuss July meeting dates
The Board agreed to meet once in July.
Motion : Have 1 BOH meeting on July 18 , 2018 .
Motion : Annette Graczewski Second : Joe Ford Vote : 4-O-O Action : Motion carried
9. Topics the Chairman did not anticipate
There were no topics to discuss .
