RESOLUTION N0. 2874
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF LYNWOOD DECLARING ITS INTENTION TO CALL A
SPECIAL ELECTION IN CERTAIN INHABITED TERRI-
TORY CONTIGUOUS TO SAID CITY PROPOSED TO BE
ANNEXED THERETO, FOR THE PURPOSE OF SUBMITTING
TO THE QUALIFIED ELECTROS RESIDING IN SAID Z'ER-
RITORY THE QUESTION WHETHER OR NOT SAID TERRI-
TORY SHALL BE ANNEXED TO THE CITY OF LYNWOOD,
AND FIXING A TIME AND PLACE WHEN AND WHERE ANY
PERSON OWNING REAL PROPERTY WITHIN SUCH TERRI-
TORY MAY APPEAR BEFORE SAID CITY COUNCIL AND
SHOW CAUSE WHY SUCH TERRITORY"SHOULD NOT BE SO
ANNEXED. (OZELL MANOR ANNEXATION N0, 10),
BE IT RESOLVED by the City,Council of the City,of Lynwood
as follows:
Section l. It is the intention o£ the City Council of
the City of Lynwood to call a special election for the purpose of
submitting to the qualified electors residing in certain inhabited
, territory contiguous to said city the question.whether or not said
territory shall be annexed to the City of Lynwood.
Section 2. That said territory hereby is designated and
identified for such election purposes and for use upon the ballots
at such election as "Ozell Manor Annexation No. 10" and is described �
' as follows:
Beginning at the intersection of the center line
of Olanda Street (60ii wide) with the Easterly line .
of Tract No. 11632,.as shown,on map recorded in
book 210, pages 29 and 30 of Maps, Records of Los
Angeles County, California, said Easterly line being
on the boundary line of the City of Compton as said
boundary existed on.September 17 1g58 thence
Southerly along said boundary line and following the
same in all its various courses to the center line
of Olanda Street (60t' wide) said center line being
on the southerly boundary of the City of Lynwood as
said City boundary existed.on September 17 1958.
Thence Easterly alorig said boundary line to the
point of beginning.

Section 3. Notice is hereby given that the City Council
of the City of Lynwood'will conduct a public hearing on said propos�d.
' annexation on.the 6th day'of January at the.hour of 7:30 p.m �
in the Council Chambers of the.City Hall, 11330 Bullis Road,.Lynwood,
,California, �t any time not later than the hour set for hearing
objections to the election, any owner of property, within said terri-
tory so proposed to be annexed and having any objections to the pro-
posed annexation may make a written protest against the election.

Such protest must be in,writing'and shall state the name or names of
the owner or owners of the property affected by such annexation and
the location and area of such property in general .If it be"
found that protest is not made by owners o£ a majority of the separate
paree]_s of property within the territory proposed to be annexed,
further proceedings shall be taken in accordance with the,law.for
the holding of such special eleetion.
Section.4. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of
this resolution.and is hereby directed,to cause a.copy of same to be
_. published once a.week for the two weeks prior to said hearing in the
Herald Amer'ican, a newspaper of general circulation,.published outside
�of the City of Lynwood but within the County of Los Angeles, and cir-
culated within the said territory proposed to be annexed.
