HomeMy Public PortalAbout2835 (08-05-58) � Z �;'� RESOLUTION N0. 2835 RESOLUTION ORDERING THE WORK AND DIRECTING THE CITY CLERK TO GIVE NOTICE INVITING BIDS IN THE MATTER OF THE IMPROVEMENT OF THE NORTH SIDE OF ABBOTT ROAD BETWEEN WASHINGTON AVENUE AND JACKSON AVENUE BY THE CONSTRUCTION OF CEMENT CONCRETE SIDEW4�LKS, TOGETHER WITH ALL INCIDENTAL AND APPURTENANT WORK. BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Lynwood as follows": ' Section 1. In the opinion of said City Council the public interest and convenience require, and said City Council having acquired jurisdiction so to do, the following work or improvement is hereby ordered�to be done, to wit: The necessary grading and the construction of cement concrete sidewalks, including all incidental and appurtenant work on the north side of Abbott Road between the southerly prolongation of the westerly line o£ Washington Avenue and the southerly prolongation of the I easterly line of Jackson Avenue in Tract No. 6436 as recorded in Book 70, Pages 16 and 17 of Maps, Records of Los ,Angeles County, as more particularly described in Resolution of Intention No. 2826. , Section 2. All o£ the work or improvement aforesaid shall be done as contempated in Resolution of Intention No. 2826 of the City Council of said city, and to Plans and Specifications No. 1958-G-3 I to which reference is hereby made for further particulars. Section 3. Said proposed work or improvement, in the opinion of said City Council, is of more than local or ordinary public benefit and said City Council hereby determines and declares that the district I to be benefited by said work and improvement, and to be assessed to pay the costs and expenses thereof is particularly described in Reso- lution of Intention No. 2826. Reference is hereby made to said I Resolution of Intention and. to Plan No. 1958-G-4 for further p,articulars as to the extent of the assessment district, Section 4, The proceedings for the aforesaid�work and improvement shall be had and taken under an Act of the Legislature of the State of California designated as the Streets and Highways Code, I -1- Division 7, and cited as the "Improvement Act of lgll," and amend- ments thereto. Section 5. The City Council hereby determines and declares that serial bonds shall be issued in the form and manrier. provided in said aforementioned Act, bearing interest at the rate of six (6) per centum per annum to represent each assessment of twenty-five dollars , ($25.00) or over, remaining unpaid for thirty days after the date of warrant. Said serial bonds shall extend over a period ending nine years from the second day of January next succeeding the next October 15th following their date. Said bonds and interest thereon shall be paid at the office of the City Treasurer of said City and 'shall be disbursed by him, all as provided in said Act. Section 6.
