HomeMy Public PortalAbout2833 (08-05-58) 2�' RESOLUTION N0. 2 533 RESOLUTION OVERRULING PROTESTS AND DETERMINING THAT THE CITY COUNCIL HAS ACQUIRED JURISDICTION TO ORDER THE PROPOSED WORK OR IMPROVEMENT IN THE MATTER OF THE IMPROVEMENT OF THE NORTH SIDE OF ABBOTT ROAD BETWEEN WASHINGTON AVENUE AND JACKSON AVENUE BY TI-L CONSTRUCTION OF CEMENT CONCRETE SIDEWALKS, TOGETHER WITH ALL INCIDENTAL AND APPURTENANT WORK, WHEREAS, the City Council o£ the City of Lynwood did on the lst day of July 1958 adopt its Resolution of Intention No. 2826 ordering the improvement of the north side of Abbott Road between Washington Avenue and Jackson Avenue by the construction of cement concrete sidewalks, together with all incidental and appurtenant wor�c, and WHEREAS, Tuesday, the 5th day of August, 1958 at the hour of 8 p.m. at the Council Chambers in the City Hall in said City of Lynwood was the time and place set in said Resolution of Intention when and where any objections to the proposed work or improvement, or to the extent of the district to be assessed, or to the grades to which the work was proposed to be done would be heard by said City Council, and WHEREAS, the City Clerk of said city has heretofore pre- sented and filed an affidavit of publication of said Resolution of Intention, showing that the same was published according to law, and WHEREAS, said City Clerk has also presented and filed his affidavit of mailing notices of the adoption of said Resolution of Intention in the time, form, and manner, and to the persons, all as provided by an Act of the Legislature of the State of Cali£ornia, designated as Division 7 of the Streets and Highways Code, and cited as the "Improvement Act of 1911," and amendments thereto, and WHEREAS, the City Engineer-Superintendent of Streets has heretofore presented and filed an affidavit showing that notice of the passage of said Resolution of Intention has�-� been posted in the manner provided by said Act, and WHEREAS, at said hearing held on the 5th day of August 1958 -1- fio protests were filed against any of the things proposed to be done und.er said Resolution of Intention No. 28z6. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the _= City.of Lynwood that the said City Council has acquired full juris- � ,� diction toyorder the proposed work or improvement.
