RESOLUTION N0. 2799 •
RESOLUTION ORDERING THE WORK AND DIRECTING THE
CITY CLERK TO GIVE NOTICE INVITING BIDS IN THE
MATTER OF THE IMPROVEMENT OF BIRCH STREET
BETWEEN FERNWOOD AVENUE AND THE CITY PARK BY
THE CONSTRUCTION OF CEMENT CONCRETE CURBS, DRIVE-
WAYS, SIDEWALKS, AND GUTTERS, AND THE REMOVAL OF
EXISTING PARKWAYS, DRIVEWAYS, AND TREES, TOGETHER
WITH ALL INCIDENTAL AND APPURTENANT WORK.
BE IT.RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Lynwood I
as follows:
Section 1: In the opinion of said City Council the public
interest and convenience require, and said City Council having
acquired jurisdiction so to do, the following work or improvement is
hereby ordered to be done, to wit:
The removal of trees, cement concrete curbs, gutters, side-
walks, and driveways, and the construction of cement concrete curbs,
gutters, driveways, and sidewalks, including all incidental and
appurtenant work, in Birch Street between the center line of Fernwood
Avenue and a line 40 feet northerly of and parallel to the northerly

line of Tract No. 3335 as recorded. in Book 36, Page 42 of Maps, Recorc�
of Los Angeles County, incluc7-ing portions of intersecting streets, as
more particularly described in Resolution of Intention No. 2788.
Section 2: All of the work or improvement aforesaid shall
be done as contemplated in Resolution of Intention No. 2788 of the
City Council of said City, and to Plans and Specificat3ons No. 1956-c-3
to which reference is hereby made for further particulars.
Section 3: Said proposed work or improvement, in the
opinion of said City Council, is of more than local or ordinary public
benefit and said City Council hereby determines and declares that the
district to be bene£ited by said work and improvement, and to be
assessed to pay the costs and expenses thereof is particularly des-
cribed in Resolution of Intention No. 2788. Reference is hereby made
to said Resolution of Intention and to Plan No. 1956-C-4 for further
particulars as to the extent of the assessment district.
Section 4: The proceedings for the aforesaid work and. im-
provement shall be had. and taken under an Act of the Legislature of
the State of California designated as the Streets and Highways Code,
Division 7, and cited as the "Improvement Act of 1911," and amend-
ments thereto.
Section 5:� The City Council hereby determines and declares
that serial bonds shall be issued in the form and manner provided
in said aforementioned Act,'bearing interest at the rate of aix (6)
per centum per annum to represent each assessment of twenty-five
($25.00) dollars or over, remaining unpaid for thirty days after the
date of warrant. �Said serial bonds shall extend over a period ending
nine years from the second day of January next succeeding the next
October 15th fo11'owing their date. Said bonds and, interest thereon
shall be paid at the office of the City Treasurer of said City and

shall be disbursefl by him, all as provided in said Act.

Section 6: The City Clerk shall cause to be published
a notice inviting sealed proposals or bids for doing the above
described work or improvement in the time, form, and manner required.
