CITY STRATEGIC GOALS:
Temporarily suspending overnight parking enforcement during the holidays would
promote the City Strategic Goal of Quality of Life.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Overnight parking permits cost $3 and the citation fee for parking overnight without a
permit is $55. The estimated potential lost revenue from suspending overnight parking
permit enforcement for three weeks is approximately $16,000, including overnight
parking permit fees and parking citation revenue.
The estimated parking permit and citation revenue in the Fiscal Year (FY) 2016-17 City
Budget was developed assuming that enforcement would be suspended during the
holidays, and therefore does not include the lost revenue. Therefore, this action would
have no impact on the FY 2016-17 City Budget.
