RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
LYNWOOD PROTESTING THE APPOINTMENT OF C,_S,
SMITH TO THE 1958'GRAND�NRY, .
The City Council of the City of Lynwood does hereby
resolve as follows:
• Section l: Tha,t ttie said City Council protests the
appointment of C. S. Smith to the 1958 Grand. Jury,
Section 2: That the protest is based on belief of this
Council tha.t as owner-publisher of the Herald American, Mr. Smith
has permitted ma.ny untruths, half-truths and unwarranted derogatory
statements regarding the City of Lynwood., the Lynwood Unified. School
District and. the officials and administrators thereof to be circulated
in his paper, ,
Section 3: That the City Council of the City of Lynwood is
of the opinion that a man who would permit such a situation to exist
is not qualifieci to serve on a Grand Jur.y.
Section.4: That the City Clerk shall certify to the adoption
of this resolution.and is hereby directed to deliver a. certified copy
thereof to the Chairman of the Committee of Selection of Gra,nd. Jurors.
