RESOLUTION N0. 2731
RESOLUTION ABANDONING THE PROPOSED IMPROVEMENT
OF A PORTION OF LONG BEACH BOULEVARD BETWEEN
IMPERIAL HIGHWAY AND CENTURY BOULEVARD BY THE
INSTALLATION OF AN ORNAMENTAL STREET LIGATING
SYSTEM, TOGETHER WITH ALL INCIDENTAL AND APPUR-
�ENANT WORK, '
WHEREAS, the City Council of the.City o£ Lynwood did, on'
the 5th day of February 1957 adopt its Resolution of Intention No.
2717 ordering the improvement of Long Beach Boulevard between the
' center line of Imperial Highway and the Center line of Century
Boulevard, including portions of intersecting streets, by the con-
struction and installation of an ornamental street lighting system,
together with all incid.ental and appurtenant work, and ,
WHEREAS, the City Clerk of said city has heretofore pre-
sented and--filed and affidavit of publication of said Resolution of
Intention sh�wing that the same was published according to law,'and
WHEREAS, said City Clerk has also presented and filed his
affidavit of mailing notices of the adoption of said Resolution of
Intention in the time, form, and manner and to the persons, all as
provid.ed by an act of the Legislature of the State of California,
designated as Division 7 of the Streets and Highway Code, as cited as
"Improvement Act of 1911," and amendments thereto, and
WI�REAS, the City Engineer-Superintendent of Streets has
heretofore presented- and filed an affidavit showing that notices of
the passage of said Resolution of Intention have been posted in the
. ,
manner provided by said Aet, and
WHEREAS, Tuesday, the 5th day of March, 1957 at the hour of
� 8:00 o�tclock p.m. at the Council Chambers in the City Hall of said City �
of Lynwood, was the time and place set in said Resolution of Intention
when and where any objections to the proposed work or improvement, or
to the extent of the district to be assessed, or to the grades to which
the work was proposed to be done, would be heard by said City Council,
and.
WHEREAS, at said hearing held on the 5th d.ay of March 1957

and continued to the 19th day of March 1957 majority protests were
filed against all of the things proposed to be done under said
Resolution of Intention No. 2717. ,
NOW, THEREFORE,. BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
City of Lynwood that the said City Council has considered all facts
and testimony and that in the best interests of all parties concerned,
cl.eclare this improvement to be abandoned and that no proceedings as
outlined in Resolution of Intention No. 2717 shall be taken for a
period of one year from this date, all as provided in Chapter 8, Part
3, Division 7 of the Streets and Highways Code, cited as "Improvement
Act of 1911."
