RESOLUTION N0 2743
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
. LYNWOOD, CALIFORNIA DECLARING THE RESULT OF THE
SPECIAL ELECTION PERTAINING TO THE ANNEXATION OF
"OZELL MANOR ANNEXATION N0. 8" TO THE CITY OF
LYNWOOD, HELD IN SAID TERRITORY ON MAY 14 1957.
' WHEREAS, a special election was held and conducted on the
14th day of May, 1 957 in the territory hereinafter described for the
purpose of submitting to the qualified- electors residing in said
territory the question whether or not such territory should be
annexed to, incorporated in, and made a part of the City o£ Lynwood.
Said territory is described as follows:
Beginning at the southeasterly corner of Tract No. 17484
as shown on map recorded in Book 424, pages 43 and 44 of Maps,
Record.s of Los Angeles County, California, said point being on the
boundary line of' the City of Lynwood as said boundary line existed
October 22 1956 thence northerly along said boundary line and
following the same in all its various courses to its intersection
with the northerly prolongation of the easterly line of Lot 67 of
Tract No. 11632, as shown on map recorded in Book 210, pages 29 and
30 of Maps, Records of said County, said last described line being
on the boundary line of the City�of Compton as said boundary existed
October 22 1956 thence southerly in a direct line through the
southeasterly corner of Lot 54 of said Tract No. 11632 to the center
line of Olanda Street, 60 feet wide, as shown on said last mentioned
map; thence westerly along said last mentioned center line and the
westerly prolongation thereof to its intersection with the afore-
mentioned boundary line of the City of Compton; thence northerly along
`said last mentioned boundary line and following the same in all its
• various courses to the point of beginning.
WHERE�,S, it appears that notice of said special election wae
duly and legally given; that voting precinct was properly established;
that election o£ficers were appointed and election supplies furnished,
and sample ballots and polling place cards were mailed to all qualified

registered voters residing in said territory,,and that in all res-
pects said 'election was held and conducted and the votes cast thereat
received and canvassed, and the returns thereof made and. declared in

the time, form, and manner as required by the laws of the State of
California governing such elections„ and all other laws pertaining
thereto, and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Lynwood met in
the Council Chambers of the City Hall, on Tuesday, the 21st day of
May 1957 to canvass the r.eturne of said election and declare the
results thereof to be as hereinafter stated,
NOW, Tf�REFORE,.BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
City of Lynwood, as follows: '
That the proposition submitted, the number of votes,cast
for and against said annexation „ and the total number of votes cast
are as follows:
, '�Shall Ozell Manor Annexation No. 8 be annexed
to, incorporated in, and made a part of the City of Lynwood?"
In favor of: 49
Against: 2
Total votes cast: 51

Therefore, it is hereby declared that a majority of the votes
at said special election was in favor of the proposed annexation.
The City Clerk shall enter on the records of the City Council
a statement of the result of the said. special election showing the
number of votes in favor of said annexation, the number of votes
against said annexation, and the whole number of votes cast, all as
. required by law.
