A RESOLUTION SELLING SURPLUS PROPERTY
TO VAN BIBBER LAKE FIRE DEPARTMENT
WHEREAS, the City of Greencastle has acquired Self Contained Breathing Apparatus
for the purpose of fire suppression; and
WHEREAS, the City of Greencastle owns older Self Contained Breathing Apparatus
which is no longer needed or used by the Greencastle Fire Department; and
WHEREAS, the City of Greencastle desires to transfer ownership of said Self Contained
Breathing Apparatus to the Van Bibber Lake Fire Department.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE CITY OF GREENCASTLE
hereby transfer ownership of four older Self Contained Breathing Apparatus to the Vanbibber
Lake Fire Department for the consideration of $ 1.00. Said Transfer shall take place upon passage
of a comparable resolution by the Van Bibber Lake Fire Department.
Further, the City of Greencastle makes no warranty whatsoever regarding the Self
Contained Breathing Apparatus and the Van Bibber Lake Fire Department takes ownership to
said SCBA "as is" and shall hold the City harmless for any liability arising from this transfer of
property.
PASSED AND RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of Greencastle at its
regular meeting this 10th day of June 2003.

Dear Mr. Newgent,
® In behalf of the "Van Bibber Lake Volunteer Eire Department" Lamrequesting your
consideration of our organization for any surplus equipment, tools, or fire related materials.
We especially need to replace.our. SCBAunits.as.they are- shawing_their_age- and -are limited on
air capacity. Should we be fortunate to receive six units from your upgrade we_will offer the six
units being replaced to-any department _in-the-County desiring them atno. cost_. Lbelieve they
would make good training unitsor possibly backup units for departments short on units.
We realize any sale; contribution-or danation_isintended- to: indirectly favor-the county and the
City of Greencastle and will be honored as such. Our sole intention is to use such items as
replacement of limited capacity_ units.
I personally commit to you any items will be used in accordance with the best benefit to the
county and its citizenry.
