RESOLUTION OF INTENTION IN THE MATTER OF THE
IMPROVEMENT OF MURIEL DRIVE (WEST SIDE) BETWEEN
133.60 FEET SOUTH OF VIRGINIA AVENUE AND 133.54
FEET NORTH OF JOSEPHINE STREET BY THE CONSTRUCTION
OF CONCRETE CURBS,.GUTTERS, AND CROSS GUTTERS,
TOGETHER WITH ALL INCIDENTAL AND APPURTENANT WORK.
, WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of Division 4 of the
Streets and Highways Code, cited as the "Special Assessment Investi-
gation Limitation and Majority Protest Act of 1931," the City Council
of the City of Lynwood has determined that the�west side of Muriel
Drive between 133.6o feet south of Virginia Avenue and 133.54 feet
�north of Josephine Street as proposed in Resolution No. 2694 of said
city is feasible, and that the public interest, convenience, and
necessity require the improvement substantially as set forth in said
report, and
� WHEREAS,.said City Council has found that the lands to be
assessed will be able to stand the burden.of the proposed assessment,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Cit,y Council of the
City of Lynwood as follows:
Section l: That in the opinion o£ the City Council of the
City of Lynwood the public interest and convenience require and it is
the intention of said City Council to order the following work or
improvement to be done, to wit:
� The construction of cement concrete curbs, cement concrete
gutters,,and cement concrete cross gutters, including all incidental
and appurtenant work on the west side of Muriel Drive lying between
the easterly prolongation of the southerly line of Lot 185, Tract 7572
as recorded in Book 82, pages 22 and 23 of Maps, Records o£ Los Angeles
County, and the easterly prolongation o£ the northerly line o£ Lot 158
of said tract, includ.ing portions of intersecting streets.
All o£ said work or improvement shall be performed in the
public ways and between the limits hereinbefore designated except
where the plans indicate that said work shall be omitted.
That all of the work or improvement aforesaid shall be done
and performed in accordance with and to the grades shown on Plans and

Specifications No. L956-G-3� in the office of the City Clerk ,

of said city. Said plans are hereby referred to for a full and com-
plete d.escription,of said proposed work and for the grades to which
the work is to be done and said plans and specifications are by
reference made a part hereof and shall govern for all details of the
proposed work.
That the total estimated cost of said work or imp_r,ovement
is the sum of'One Thousarid Three Hundred Forty-five and 44/100ths
Dollars (.$1.,345:44).
�That said contemplated work is of general public benefit
and the said City Council hereby determines that the cost of construct-
ing the cement concrete cross gutters of said proposed improvement
shall be paid from the General Fund of said city, but said amount shall
not exceed Three Hundred Sixty-five and 50/100ths Dollars ($365.50).
Section 2: That said contemplated work or improvement, in
the opinion of said City Council, is of more than,local or ordinary
public bene£it, and said. City Council hereby d.etermines and declares
that the district to be benefited by said work or improvement, and to
be assessed to pay the costs and expenses of such work or im provement,
is shown on Plan No. 1956-G-4 on file in the office of the City Clerk
of said City, to which reference.is hereby made for a full and complete
description of the assessment district.
Section 3: The City Council hereby d.etermines and declares
that serial bonds shall be issued in the manner and form provided in
Diyision 7 of the Streets and Highways Code cited as the "Improvement
Act of 1911," as amended, bearing interest at the rate of six per cent
per annum to represent each assessment of Twenty-five Dollars ($25.00)
or over remaining unpaid for thirty days after the date of recordation
of the.warrant; said serial bonds shall extend over a period ending
. nine years £rom the second day of January next succeeding the next
October fifteenth following their date. Said bonds and interest
thereon shall be paid. at the off3ce of the City Treasurer and the.same
shall be disbursed by him, all as provided 3n the said."Improvement Act

o£ 1911," as amended.
Section 4: Notice is hereby given that.the provisions of
that certain act of the Legislature of the State of California desig-
nated as the Streets and Highways Code, Division 4,,cited as the
"Special Assessment Investigation Limitation and Ma,jority Protest Act
of 1931," as amended, have hereto£ore been £ully complied with,and all
the reports-required under the provisions of said Act are on file in
the office o£ the City Clerk of said City, open to public inspection,
and may there be examined by all interested persons.
Section 5: The proceedings for the aforesaid work or improve-
,
ment shall be taken under an Act of the Legislature of the State of
California designated. as the Streets and Highways Code, Division 7,
cited as the "Improvement Act of 1911," and amendments thereto.
Section 6: The City Engineer is hereby directed to make a
diagram of the property affected or benefited by said proposed work
or improvement as described herein and to be assessed to pay the costs
and exp°enses of said- work, showing such separate lot, piece,.or parcel
of land and the dimensions of each such lot, piece, or parcel oP land
and the relative location of the same to the work or improvement pro-
posed to be done, all within the limits of said assessment district.
Section 7: .Notice is hereby given,that on Tuesday, �the 5th
day of February 1 at the hour of 8:00 o�clock p.m., at the Council
Chambers in the City Hall, 11330 Bullis Road, in the City of Lynwood,
any and all persons having any objections or protests to said proposed
work or improvement, or to the extent of the district to be assessed,
or to the grades to which the work is proposed�to be done, may appear
before said City Couneil and show cause why said proposed work or im-
provement should not be carried out in accordance with this resolution.
Section 8: The City,Engineer, who is the Superintendent of
Streets, is hereby directed to post notices of the passage of this
resolution in the time,.form, and manner required by law.
Section 9: The City Clerk shall certify to the passage of
this resolution by the City Council of said City of Lynwood and cause

the same to be published twice in the Lynwood Press, a newspaper
published and circulated weekly in said City and hereby designated by
said City Council for the purposes aforesaid. Said Clerk is also
directed to mail notices of the.adoption of this Resolution of Intention
in the time,.form, and manner, and to the persons, all as provided
in said. "Improvement Act of 1911," as amended.
