A RESOLUTION CONSENTING TO THE COMNiENCEMENT
OF ANNEXATION PROCEEDINGS AND APPROVING THE
CIRCULATION OF PETITIONS REQUESTING THE
ANNEXATION OF MIDLANDS DISTRICT ANNEXATION
N0. 1 TO THE CITY OF LYNWOOD.
WHEREAS, on November 16, 1954 request was made to the
City Council of the City of' Lynwood to commence proceedings to
annex certain inhabited territory lying southerly of' Orchard Avenue
and westerly of Long Beach Boulevard, and
WHEREAS, said request was referred to the Pla.nning Commis-
sion f'or investigation and report, and
4JHEREAS, the Planning Commission did, on the 22nd day of
November, 1954, recommend to the City Council tha.t said annexation
proceedings be commenced, and
WHEREAS, the Boundary Commission of' the County of Los
Angeles did, on the 30th day of January i953 approve the proposed
boundaries of said area as to definiteness and certainty, and
WHEREAS, on the 25th day o� November, 1954 there was filed
with the City Clerk of the City of Lynwood aff'idavits of publication
that said. notices of intention to circulate petitions relating to the
annexgtion of' said territory to the City of Lynwood were published in
the Lynwood Press and Herald American on the 25th day of November,
1954.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that consent is hereby
granted f'or the commencement of a.nnexation proceedings of said here-
inafter described territory in accordance �vith the Anne�ation Act of
1913;
That said territory is hereby designated as "Midlands
District Annexation No. 1" and is described as follows:
Beginning at the southea.sterl�= corner of Lot 21, Block
12, of Belle Vernon Acres, as shown on ma.p recorded in
Book 9, page 196 of Maps, Records of' Los Angeles County,
California, said point being on the boundary line of the
City of Lynwood as same existed January 15 1953 thence
northerly along said boundary line and following the same
in all its various courses to the northwesterly
corner of Lot 10, Block D of Tract No. 4827, as
shown on map recorded in Book 54, pages 25 and 26
of Maps, Records of said County, said last des-
cribed point being on the boundary line of the
City of Compton, as same existed January 15 1953
thence southerly along sa.id la.st mentioned boundary
line and following the same in all its various
courses to the point of beginning.
That receipt of the affidavits of publication is hereby
acknowledged and approval is hereby given for the circulation of
petitions for the annexation of said territory pursuant to said
Annexation Act of 1913.
