Orleans 4th of July Committee

In attendance: Committee Members,Jane Peno, Ingrid Moyer, Sue Christie, Bonnie Roy;Absent:Judi
Weil;Also in attendance: Interested Citizens, Deb Steven, Peter Howerton,Wally Swidrak
The Meeting was called to order at 4:00pm
The MINUTES of July 8, 2015,September 3, 2015 were approved 4-0 Judy Weil absent
AGENDA ITEMS:
Old Business:
1. Update From The Friends Of The Fourth/Fireworks Update
• Mailed about 350 special appeal letters to last year's donors and returns are starting to come in
• Grant applications to Stop and Shop and Cape Cod 5 have been submitted
2. Band Update
• Contracts are coming in.
• The band contract amounts were raised by$100.00 and Sue Keller by$50.00
• We brainstormed possible new musical participants
- Snow Library music performances are supported by the Orleans Cultural Council
- Beach Gazebo bands—are they supported by the Town
- Jazz Band at NRHS
- Fife and Drum Band
- Rip it ups
3. Review Timeline

Annual Report—Bonnie will draft a report and share with Committee members before submitting
January
- Update budget—Ingrid
- Notify Chamber of Commerce, and all Town departments and committees of dates of
Parade and Fireworks—Bonnie
- Notify Thompson's Printing (for Orleans Guide Book) of dates of Fireworks and Parade- Ingrid
- Warrant for Town Meeting—vote needed. Bonnie will draft
LOOKING AHEAD
- Update Theme Application
- Make sure Orleans Police and Fire Department aware of Fireworks dates
- Banner to Young and Fancy to have dates changed
4. New Business
• We want to get the name of the Vendor who was selling on Main Street during the parade.They did
not have a Town permit.
• We are going to create a list of what our Committee does for the planning and organizing of the
Orleans Fireworks. We will review our Committee Charge. No Town funds are spent on the Orleans
Fireworks.
The next meeting will be held on Tuesday,January 12, 2016 at 5:00 pm at the Orleans Town Hall.
The meeting was adjourned at 4:45pm.
