RESOLUTION OF INTENTION IN THE MATTER.OF THE
IMPROUEMENT OF LONG BEACH BOULEVARD BETWEEN
IMPERIAL HIGHWAY AND CENTURY BOULEVARD BY THE
INSTALLATION OF AN ORNAMENTAL STREET LIGHTING
SYSTEM, TOGETHER WITH ALL INCIDENTAL AND APPUR-
TENANT WORK.

WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of Diviaion 4 of the
Streets and.Highways Cod.e, cited. as the "Special Assessment Investi-
� gation Limitation and. Majority Protest Act of 1931," the City Council
of the City of Lynwood. has determined. that the improvement of Long
Beach Boulevard. between Imperial Highway and Century Boulevard as
proposed in Resolution No. 2680 of said city is feasible, and that
the public interest, convenience, and necessity require the improve-
ment substantially as set forth in sa.id:report, and
WF�RE�S, said City Council has found. that the lands to be
assessed will be able to stand the burden o£ the proposed assessment,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
City of Lynwood as follows:
Section l: That in the opinion of the City Council of the
City of Lynwood. the public interest and convenience require and. it is
the intention of said. City Council to order the following work or�
improvement to be done, to wit:
The removal of certain existing lighting standards and.
accessory equipment and. the construction and installation o£ an orna-
mental.street lighting aystem, together with all incid.ental and. appur-
tenant work in Long Beach Boulevard between the centerline o£ Imperial
Highway and the centerline of Century Boulevard., including portions
of intersecting streets.
' All of said work or improvement shall be performed. in the
public ways and between the limits hereinbefore designated except
where the plans ind.icate.that said work sha11 be omitted..
.That a11 0£ the work or improvement aforesaid. shall be done
and performed in accord.ance with and. to the grades shown on Plans and.
Specifications No. 1956-F-3 on file in the office of the City Clerk

of said city. Said plans are hereby referred. to for a full and. com-
plete description of said proposed work and for the grades to which
the work is to be done and said. plans and. specifications are by
re£erence mad.e a part hereof and shall govern for all d.etails of the
proposed work.
That the total estimated. cost of said work or improvement
is the sum of Sixteen Thousand. Eight Hundred. Fifty-two and 56/100ths
Dollars ($16,852.56). I
Section 2: That said contemplated work or improvement, in
the opinion of said City Council, is of more than local or ord.inary
public benefit, and said. City Council.hereby d.etermines and. d.eclares
that the d.istrict to be benefited. by said work or improvement, and. to
be assessed to pay the costs and expenses of such work or improvement,
is shown on Plan No. 1956-E-4 on file in the office of the City Clerk
of said. City, to which reference is hereby mad.e for a full and complete
d.escription of the assessment district.
Section 3: The City Council hereby determines.and declares
tha.t serial bonds shall be issued. in the manner and. form provided in
Division 7 of the Streets and Highways Code cited. as the "Improvement
Act of 1911," as amend.ed, bearing interest at the rate of six per cent
per annum to represent each assessment of Twenty-five Dollars ($25.00)
or over remaining unpaid for thirty days after the d.ate of record.a.tion
of the warrant; said serial bonds shall extend. over a.period ending
nine years from the second. day of January next succeed.ing the next
October fifteenth.following their date. Said. bond.s and interest
thereon shall be paid. at the office of the City Treasurer and. the same
shall be disbursed by him, all as provided in the said "Improvement Act
of 1911," as amended.
Section 4: Notice is hereby given that the provisions of
that certain Act of the Legislature of the State of California desig-
' nated. as the.Streets and. Highways Cod.e, Division 4, cited. as the."Special
Assessment Investigation Limitation,and Majority Protest Act of 1931,"
as amended, have heretofore been fully complied. with and. all the reports

required. under the provisions o£ said Act are on file in the office
of the City Clerk of said City, open to public inspection, and. may
there be examined.by a11 interested persons.
Section 5: The proceedings for the aforesaid work or im-
provement shall be taken und.er an Act of the Legislature of the State
of California designated. as the Streets and Highways Cod.e, Division 7,
cited as the "Iznprovement Act of 1911," and amendments thereto.
Section 6: The City Engineer is hereby directed. to make a
diagram of the property a£fected. or.benefited by said proposed. work
or improvement as described herein and to be assessed to pay the costs
and. expenses of said. work, showing each separate lot, piece,.or parcel
of land and. the d.imensions of each such lot, piece, or parcel of land
and. the relative location of the same to the work or improvement pro-
posed to be done, a11 within the limits of said. assessment d.istrict.
Section 7: Notice is hereby given that on Tuesd.ay, the 5th
day of March 1957 at the hour of 8:00 o�clock p.m., at the Council
Chambers in the City Ha11, 11330 Bullis Road, in the City of Lynwood,
any and. all persons having any objections or protests to said. proposed
wo'rk or improvement, or to the extent of the district to be assessed.,
or to the grad:es to which the work is proposed to be done, may appear
before said Qity Council and show cause why said proposed. work or im-
provement should. not be carried out�in accord.ance with this resolution.
Section 8: The City Engineer, who is the Superintendent of
Streets, is hereby directed. to post notices of the passage of this
resolution in the time, form, and manner required by law.
�Section 9: The City Clerk shall certify to the passage of
this resolution by the City Council of said City of Lynwood. and cause
the same to be published. twice in the Lynwood Press, a newspaper
published. and circulated weekly in said. City and. hereby d.esignated by
said City Council for the purposes aforesaid. Said. Clerk is also
directed. to mail notices of the adoption of this Reaolution of
Intention in the time, form, and. manner, and to the persons, all as
