A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY.COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF LYNWOOD DECLARING ITS INTENTION TO CALL A
' SPECIAL ELECTION IN CERTAIN INHABITED TERRI-
TORY CONTIGUOUS TO SAID CITY PROPOSED TO BE
ANNEXED THERETO, FOR THE PURPOSE OF SUBMITTING.
TO THE, QUALIFIED ELECTORS RESIDING IN SAID TER-
RITORY THE QUESTION WHETHER OR NOT SAID TERRI-
TORY SHALL BE ANNEXED TO THE CITY OF'LYNWOOD,
AND FIXING A TIME AND PLACE WIIEN AND WFIERE ANY
PERSON OWNING REAL PROPERTY WITHIN SUCH TERRI-
TORY MAY APPEAR BEFORE SAID CITY COUNCIL AND
SHOW CAUSE WHY SUCH TERRITORY SHOULD NOT BE SO
ANNEXED. (OZELL MANOR ANNEXATION N0. 8).
BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the Qity of Lynwood
as follows:
Section 1: It is the intention of the City Council of the
City of Lynwood to call a special election, giving at least fifty (50)
days notice thereof, for the purpose of submitting to the qualified.
electors resid.ing in certain inhalaited. territory contiguous to said
city the question whether or not sa'id. territory shall be annexed to
the City of �ynwood.
Section 2: That said territory hereby is d.esignated. and
identified for such election purposes and for use upon the ballots
at such election as "Ozell Manor Annexation No. 8" and. is d.escribed.
as follows:
Beginning at th'e southeasterly corner of Tract No. 17484
as shown on map recorded. in Book 424, pagea 43 and 44 of Maps, Records
of Los Angeles County, California, said point being on the boundary
line of the City of Lynwood as said bound.ary line existed. October 22,
1956; thence northerly along said:boundary line and £ollowing the same
in all its various courses to its intersection with the northerly pro-
' longation of the easterly line of Lot 67tof Tract No. 11G32, ae shown
on ma.p record:ed. in Book 210, pages 29 and. 30 of Maps, Records of said.
County, said la.st described line being on the boundary.line of the
City of Compton as said. boundary existed. October 22, 1956; thence
southerly in a direct line through the south�asterly corner o£ Lot 54
of said. Tract No. ll632 to the center line of Olanda Street, 60 feet
wide, as shown on said last mentioned. map; thence.westerly along said.
la.st mentioned center line,and the westerly prolongation thereof to

to .its intersection with the aforementioned bound.ar.y line of the City
of Compton; thence northerly along said last mentioned. boundary line
and following the same in all its various courses to the.point of
beginning. .
Section 3: Notice is hereby given that the City Council
of the City of Lynwood. will cond.uct a public hearing on sa.id proposed I
annexation on the 19th day of March 1957 at the hour of 8:00 p.m.
in the Council Chambers of the City Ha11, 11330 Bullis Road,.Lynwood.,
California. At any time not later than the hour set for hearing
objections.to the election,,any owner of property within_said. terri-
tory so proposed. to be annexed and. having any objections to the proposed.
annexation may make a written protest against the election. Such pro-
test must be' in writing and. shall sta.te the name or names o£ the owner
� or owners of the property affected by such.annexation and: the location
and area. of such property in general terms. If it be found. that pro-
test is not made by owners of a ma�ority of the separate parcels of
property within the�territory proposed to be annexed., further proceed.-
ings sha11 be taken in accord.ance with the law for the hold.ing of such
special election.
Section 4: The City Clerk sha.11 certify to the adoption of
this resolution,and is hereby,'directed. to cause a copy of,same to be
published. once a week for the two weeks prior to said. hearing in the
Herald-American a newspaper of general circula.tion, published. outside
�f the,'City of Lynwood. but within the County of Los Angeles, and cir-
