REGULAR MEETING MINUTES
JULY 19, 2011
1. CALL TO ORDER
Chairman Chavez called the Community Redevelopment Agency Regular Meeting to order at
9:38 p.m. in the Council Chambers located at 5938 Kauffman Avenue, Temple City.
ROLL CALL
PRESENT: Member -Blum, Sternquist, Yu, Chavez
ABSENT: Member - Vizcarra
ALSO PRESENT: Executive Director Pulido, Agency Counsel Vail, Assistant Executive
Director Masura, Agency Secretary Flandrick
Mr. Blum moved to excuse Mr. Vizcarra for cause, seconded by Vice Chairman Yu and
unanimously carried.
3. CONSENT CALENDAR
Vice Chairman Yu moved to approve the Consent Calendar, seconded by Mr. Blum and
unanimously carried by the following roll call vote:
AYES: Member -Blum, Sternquist, Yu, Chavez
NOES: Member -None
ABSENT: Member - Vizcarra
ABSTAIN: Member -None
A. APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Approved as presented:
1) Minutes of the Special Meeting of June 28, 2011; and
2) Minutes of the Regular Meeting of July 5, 2011.
B. ADOPTION OF RESOLUTION NO. CRA 11 -1029 APPROVAL OF PAYMENT OF
BILLS
Adopted Resolution No. CRA 11 -1029, a RESOLUTION OF THE
REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY OF THE CITY OF TEMPLE CITY ALLOWING
CLAIMS AND DEMANDS IN THE SUM OF $7,455.00 DEMAND NOS. 3816 -3817.

8. UPDATE FROM EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
Executive Director Pulido provided an update on two Bills recently passed by the State
Legislature eliminating redevelopment agencies and the alternative of allowing the agencies
to make a significant and ongoing payment to remain active. The California Redevelopment
Association in cooperation with the League of California Cities has filed a lawsuit challenging
both of these Bills as being unconstitutional and asked for a stay of enforcement until the
Court rules on them. Staff and Agency Counsel have looked at the issues and will prepare a
go- forward strategy to present to the Agency at a future meeting.
