RESOLUTION N0 2546
A.RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
LYNWOOD, CALIFORNIA, DECLARING THE RESULT OF THE
� GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION HELD IN SAID CITY OF
LYNWOOD ON APRIL 13 195�+. .
Be.it resolved by the City Council of the City of
Lynwood as followa:
WHEREAS, the General Municipal Election was held and. con-
ducted in the City of Lynwood, State of California, on the 13th day
of April, 1954 as requixed by law, and
WHEREAS, it appears that Notice of said election was duly
and legally given, that voting precincts were properly established,
that election officers were appointed and election supplies furnished,
that sample ballots were mailed to all qualified registered voters in
the City of Lynwood, that polling place cards were mailed to all reg-
istered voters, and that in all respects said election was held. and
conducted and the votes cast thereat received and canvassed, and. the
returns thereof made and declared in time, form, and manner as re-
quired by the General Laws of the State of California governing
elections in cities of the Fifth and Sixth Class, and in further com-
pliance with the Elections Code of said State, and all the laws per-
taining thereto, and
WHEREAS, the City Council.of the City of Lynwood met at
. the�Council Chamber of the City Hall on Tuesday, the 20th day of
April 1954 to canvass the returns of said election and install the
newly elected officers, as a result of which the Council finds that
the number of votes cast, the names of the persons voted for, the
proposition voted on, and other matters required by law, to be as
hereinafter stated.
NOU7, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
City of Lynwood as follows:
� That said regular municipal election was held and conducted
in the City of Lynwood on Tuesday, the 13th day of April 1954 in
time, form, and manner as required by law; �

.That there were sixteen voting precincts� established for
the purpose of holding said election, consisting of a consolidation
of the regular election precincts established for holding general
State and County elections, as follows:

which they were voted, the number of votes given in each Consolidated

' ber of votes which they received in the entire City, and the number

Therefore, it is�hereby declared that Ruthann�N7cMeekin
was elected to the office of inember of the City Council of the City
of Lynwood for the full term of four years;
Also, it is hereby declared that Thomas H. Pender was
elected to the office of inember of the City Council of the City of
� Lynwood for the full term of four years;
Also, that Harold M. Campbell was elected to the office
of City Clerk of the City of Lynwood for the full term of four years;
_ Also, that Ellen Webb was elected to the office of City
Treasurer,of the City of Lynwood for the full term of four years,
said four candidates having received the greatest number of votes
for the offices as set forth atiove.
And it having been found and determined that the total num-
� ber of votes cast in said Consolidated Voting Precincts on the propo- ,
sition "Shall an Ordinance entitled tAn Ordinance of the City of
Lynwood Repealing Ordinances Numbered 229, 530, and 427, and Estab-
lishing a Personnel System to Include all Employees of the City Ex-
� cept Those Specifically Excluded� be adopted and become effective?"
' was 3�61' votes. That there were 1g63 votes cast in favor of
said proposition and 1098 votes cast against said proposition.
. THEREFORE, in accord.ance therewith the City Council of the
, City of,Lynwood does hereby declare that the total number of votes
cast in favor of said proposition are in excess, of the number of
votes cast.against said proposition; therefore, the City Council
, hereby declares that said ordinance was adopted. .
The City Clerk shall enter on the records of the City
Council a statement of the result of the General Municipal Election
showing the whole number of votes cast, the names of the persons voted
for and the number of votes given to each of such persons, and the
number of votes cast for and against said.proposition, all as required
� by law.
The City Clerk shall also immediately make and deliver to
' each of such persons elected a�certificate of election, signed by him

and duly authenticated; he shall also impose the constitutional
oath of office and have same subscribed to, whereupon, they shall
be inducted into the respective offices to which they have been
elected.
The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this
resolution.
ADOPTED and APPROVED this 20th day of April, 1954,
