RESOLUTION ASCERTAINING AND DETERMINING RATE OF PER DIEM UTAGES AND THE GENERAL PREVAILING RATE ' OF PER DIEM WAGES FOR LEGAL HOLIDAYS AND OVER- TIME WORK IN THE.LOCALITY FOR EACH CRAFT OR TYPE OF LABORER, WORKMAN OR MECHANIC NEEDED TO EXE- CUTE THE CONTRACT FOR FURNISHING AND DELIVERING CERTAIN MATERIALS AND SUPPLIES IN CONNECTION WITH THE ABOVE MENTIONED IMPROVEMENT IN ACCORDANCE WITH PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS No. 1954-A-3. BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of LJnwood, California, as follows: WHEREAS, pursuant to an Act of the Legislature of the State of California, approved April.24 1937 and known as the "Labor Code" , the City Council of the City of Lynwood is required to ascertain the general prevailing rate of per diem wages and the general prevailing rate of per diem wages for legal holidays and overtime work, in this, locality, for each craft or type of laborer, workman, or mechanic needed to execute the proposed contract for the construction of sani- tary sewers and appurtenant work in Platt Avenue, in accordance with Plans and Specifications No. 1954-A-3 on file in the office of the Gity Clerk of the said City of Lynwood. NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Lynwood does hereby resolve as foll�ows: . The foregoing prevailing wage schedule is based upon a working day of eight hours, and in the event that laborers, worlrn�en, or mechanics are employed less than eight hours per day, the rate of per diem wages shall be deemed to be that fraction of the fore- going rates that the number of hours of employment bears eight. The rate of compensation for any classification not listed in the schedule, but which may be required to execute thl proposed work, shall tie commensurate and in accord with the rates for similar and comparable classification or for those performing similar or comparable duties.
