Home My Public Portal About2534 (03-02-54) Z.$ 'j� • � RESOLUTION N0. 2534 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD, CALIFORNIA, CALLING A GENERAL MUNI- CIPAL ELECTION ON TUESDAY, APRIL 13 1954 IN SAID CITI';' IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE PROVISIONS OF THE.LAWS OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA. Be it resolved by the City Council of the City of Lynwood, ' California, as follows: Section l: That a General Municipal Election be and the same is hereby called in said City, for Tuesday, April 13 ,'1954 that said election shall be held and conduoted in the manner pro- vided by the laws of the State of California. Section 2: That the City Clerk is hereby instructed and authorized to publish a notice of' election at least once in a news- paper of general circulation, published and circulated in the city. Said notice shall be headed "NOTICE OF ELECTION", and shall be in the form prescribed by Section 9751 of the Elections Code of the State of California, and shall contain a statement of the time of election, offices to be filled, the measures to�be voted on, a brief general description of the voting precincts, and location of the �polling places. Section 3: That there shall be submitted to the qualified electors of the City of Lynwood at said election, the follovaing pro- position: "Shall an Ordinance entitled ��AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY � OF LYNWOOD REPEALING ORDINANCES NUMBERED 229 530 AND 427, AND ESTABLISHING A PERSONNEL SYS�EM TO INCLUDE ALL EMPLOYEES OF THE CITY EXCEPT THOSE SPECIFICALLY.EXCLUDED� be adopted and become effective?" Section 4: The City Clerk is hereby instructed and authorized to publish a list of the names of the nominees in alphabetical order, or in the order in which they will appear on the ballot, and.,the res- ♦ pective offices for which they have been nominated at least twice be- fore the day of the election, in a nervspaper of general circulation, published and circulated in said city, together with a synopsis of the measure to be,voted�on. Said notices shall be headed "NOMINEES FOR -1- --_. PUBLIC OFFICE AND MEASURE TO BE VOTED".�, and shall be in the form prescribed by Sections 9754 and 9755 of the Elections Code of the State of California. I . Section 5: That for the purpose of.holding said General Municipal Election there shall be sixteen (16) votin� precincts to be designated as A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H, I, J, K, L, M, N, 0, and P. Said consolidated precincts shall consist of all the regular Lynwood City election precincts as last established by the Board of Super- visors of the County of Los Angeles for State and County election purposes, and the polling places and. officers appointed to conduct said General Municipal Election shall be as hereinafter designated for each precinct. The City.Clerk is hereby instructed and authorized to publish at least twice in a newspaper of general circulation; pub- lished and circulated in said city, a list of the precincts, polling places, and elect3on officers,as prescribed by law.
