- WF�REAS, the rapid population increase in the Central Basin has
caused a water dema.nd ovar and above the se.fe'yield from underground eourcea
which condition has prevailed,to an ever increasing degree for the past ten
yeara, and � , ' '
S9HERFIAS, the £urther depletioa o£ the nnderground water supply
in the Central Basin coupled with legal complioatione which kiave delayed
anneaation to the Metropolitan Water Diatrict t�as created an acute water supply
problem whieh is of vital concern to every water uaer in the Central Basia� and
WE�BEAS, the ac•tivation of Zone 1 wi�th a maaimum taa levy of �
5¢ per $100 offers the only presently available method o£ repleniahment of the
underground watar eupply,
NOW TSERE's^pgE BE IT RESOLPED by the City Council'o£ the City oY �
Lynv�ood� California, that the Honorahle Board of Supervisors be requested to •
review all facts psesented and to activate Zone 1 thia year to the end that
flirther depletion of the nnderground water supnly be arrested.
